A little idea that has been brewing at the back of my mind for a while now. Not sure whether I'll go through with it, but we'll see what happens.

‣ A medieval fantasy site with a stronger emphasis on slice-of-life and member-made plots
‣ The setting would be reminiscent of 13th to 15th century Europe
‣ Somewhat sandbox-y
‣ Primarily low fantasy — magic would be regarded as a mysterious, fickle force that is — albeit present in the world — not well-understood and generally considered to be dangerous. Characters with light magical abilities would be allowed.
‣ Set in a fairly isolated setting to encourage character interaction. The RP would take place in a single kingdom, more or less isolated from the rest of the world with either stone battlements or deep forests. Venturing beyond the kingdom's borders would be unadvisable and deemed highly dangerous, due to the plethora of malevolent creatures that roam all around (custom bestiary included in the guidebook!)
‣ Short and digestible required reading. Although the site would feature some extra lore tidbits, they would be regarded merely as supplementary materials.
‣ Optional overarching plot (with a handful of canon characters), participation would not be required
‣ Statless, freeform combat
‣ The possibility of small member-made factions: guilds and noble houses. Permits to create these would be purchasable in the site store.
‣ Knights, scholars, royals, adventurers, innkeepers, but also just a bunch of peasants just trying to make it through the winter. Just have fun!
‣ Somewhat inspired by GoT, The Witcher and Sun Haven

I've been fiddling with a possible premise for a fantasy site set in feudal Japan. I'm not really committed to the idea yet, but I thought I'd just throw it out there x3

Basic Cliffnotes:
‣ Set either in a fantasy world heavily inspired by feudal Japan or directly set in Japan (~15th-16th century)
‣ High fantasy with political intrigue and what have you
‣ Would include the option to focus solely on slice-of-life plots if you fancy
‣ A large variety of species to choose from, such as humans, yokai, oni/demons or halflings
‣ 3 starting clans/factions, more can be added as the plot progresses
‣ Canon characters (primarily leaders of the aforementioned factions) – mostly only concepts, it would be up to the writer to flesh them out if they choose to take one
‣ Statless combat, mostly freeform magic system (with some restriction to keep it from going wild, ofc)
‣ A possible inclusion of 'lower' spirits and demons that like to run around and attack civilians, to spice things up a little

Basically GoT but with samurai, I guess...? EITHER WAY, I'm not 100% on this site idea as of now. Although I have some of the lore already figured out, I'm still very much in the brainstorming phase. Part of me wants to see more slice-of-life sites... except not set in the modern world. A slice-of-life site set in a medieval village located in the middle of nowhere (could be located in the middle of some haunted woods, for some added suspense). Sweet and simple. Little to no politics, can have some light fantasy elements to sweeten it, no complicated lore, just a bunch of people trying to make it through the winter

Hello!! Due to some irl restraints, I've really been struggling with my writing muse, much to my own dismay. Therefore, I was thinking that finding a side site could help me focus on something else and, hopefully, lift my spirits.

I have a few preferred genres listed below, but the deal-breaker is definitely the community. I'm looking for a site with a small, accepting community. Nothing too big, and nothing that has been here since the beginning of times.

» I prefer Jcink, can adjust to ProBoards.
» Don't really have an OC in mind (I'll look at the suggestions and go on from there). I usually tend to play the jerk with a heart of gold archetype, but it depends!
» Don't have a preffered plot in mind. Nonetheless, I've really been craving a good slow-burn romance or some sort of hurt/comfort.
» I love to plot, but it oftentimes takes me a while to actually approach somebody about plotting.
» My activity can be patchy. I generally try to post once in two to three days (I can do multiple posts a day if everything's right). Nevertheless, I would prefer a site with lenient activity (nothing that would banish me into the archives after not posting for two weeks), nothing too strict.

Hi there!! After some thinking, I decided to host a quick staff search for an animanga urban fantasy RP I've been working on as of late! The site is WIP at the moment, but I can offer additional information and send screenshots upon request. The interest check can be found here!

Requirements
I'm looking for someone to assist me when it comes to general site management. That includes things such as advertising, updating claims, approving character applications, answering questions, etc. Advanced knowledge in HTML/CSS is not required, as long as you don't break the site templates while updating things. No prior experience is required, you can learn along the way. The most important thing is enthusiasm and willingness to help! c:

Hello everyone!! Thanks for the feedback! In regards to the project, I managed to resume my progress. I'm not aiming for a concrete opening date, but early-mid December seems reasonable enough (hopefully!).

I'm also thinking of opening a Discord server for beta testers and those who are curious to check out the site prior to its opening to the public. I could use some second opinions in regards to the site itself... and it's always good to get some plotting done ahead of everybody c;

a spooky urban fantasy rp.
Welcome to Duskborough, Oregon. Located seemingly in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by dense woodlands and steep hills. A city full of life and opportunities, yet soft murmurs about malevolent creatures and demonic entities that lurk around reach your ears. Do not wander into the woods at night, advise the locals. However, you cannot help yourself but be called to the trees...

A cradle of paranormal activity: inexplicable disappearances, ghost sightings, events that cannot be rationally comprehended. Strange things must have happened here. And when a once renown investigator's only daughter disappears without a trace, people flutter to the enigmatic city like moths drawn to a flame, uncovering secrets that should have been long forgotten.

Scarborough Fair (working title) is an upcoming animanga medieval fantasy RP, very loosely based on franchises like Game of Thrones. 

In a world where all-mighty deities have turned against their subjects and unleashed their malevolent minions to wreak havoc, we meet in the Kingdom of Northgard that has prevailed despite all odds. With nothing but stone battlements and armored heroes to protect it, tensions and uncertainties plague the once valorous and honorable nation. Where will you stand when the capital is dismantled, the crown is fickle and betrayal rules over the royals? More importantly however, will the kingdom rise against the outside evils, or will it crumble from within?

The site's overarching plot will focus on political battles over Northgard's throne and the endless struggles to fend off a myriad of otherworldly monsters that frequently threaten the kingdom's borders. 

Other than an overarching plot, each of the pre-established factions (info lower!) will come with its own side plot to get engaged in.

Nonetheless, if political intrigue and fighting monsters is not your cup of tea, participation in the site's plots will not be required and everyone will be more than welcome to focus on their own stories and personal plots. Ever wanted to be a simple scholar or a merchant? We've got you covered!


ii.



At the start, the main players will be the kingdom's three knight Orders. Each of them has their own internal problems, hierarchy, goals and visions how everything should be done. 

Order of the Griffin – Guardians of the crown, or so they claim. An Order of contradictions; their duty is to protect the kingdom's citizens, albeit strife amongst their own ranks is far from uncommon. Perhaps the most prestigious Order to serve, yet they are seemingly treading on thin ice, especially after the recent coup that has shaken the Order from within.

Order of the Stag – Guardians of the kingdom and its battlements. Whenever a monster strays too close to the gates, their duty is to slay it without hesitation. A heroic faction, and with little to no interest in Northgard's politics, they are regarded as the most 'neutral' faction of the three. However, they are far from standoffish (quite the opposite), and they oftentimes find themselves caught in the midst of the storm.

Order of the Alerion – The kingdom's attackers and explorers. Formerly a mere guild of foolhardy adventurers, they have earned their reputation for venturing beyond Northgard's borders, into lands infested with devilish creatures. To gather resources and to find other kingdoms, they claim. Simple travelers, it is unfortunate that bad blood runs between them and the Order of the Griffin; the fact that the leaders are brothers certainly does not help anyone's cause. As if it were not enough, the upper layer of this faction seems to be shielding a grave secret that could turn the already damaged monarchy from inside out.

Other than their importance to the plot, the factions also have their own culture and optional lore pages. Code of Chivalry, tournaments and so on. Ever wanted to have your own squire?

The site will also feature two types of member-made factions: noble houses (family-based factions) and guilds (craft-based factions). Anyone will be able to create their own noble house (or a guild) to affect the overarching plot or to pursue their own writing endeavors!

As extensively teased in this interest check, the site will also have its own bestiary of all the various monsters that can be encountered outside of Northgard. Furthermore, malevolent divines are awakening from their centuries-long slumber, looking to finish what their minions could not.

Characters will be able to interact with said deities through events and other special occasions!

× No word count, no strict activity standards, freeform profile app.
× Other than monsters and divines, the site will feature other fantasy elements. Characters will be able to have small supernatural powers that, although useless in combat, may spice up the character's life a bit!
× Several achievements for collecting and bragging rights, both for OOC and IC accounts.
× Site store to purchase various tokens for limited characters and other shenanigans.
× Although we tried to keep the mandatory lore simple, the site does feature some optional lore to shed some light on the kingdom's history.
× Exploration of the outside world to reveal new locations and lore about what happened to some other kingdoms.

Hello there!

I've been looking for a character for my personal plot on a slice-of-life site, Sidereal Gardens. I've been told that someone out there might be interested in this funky plot, so, here I am, tempting fate yet again!

The plot-specific character would likely be a consistent threading partner with my character, whose name is Santiago Roscoe (the site doesn't allow guests to view apps, so oops in this regard?). Santiago is, in a nutshell, a huntsman who lives in a cabin in the forest, alone from society. He's calm, wise, kind-hearted, yet kinda grumpy and aloof. Think any huntsman from any fairytales, I suppose. Nevertheless, the forest and a strong affinity to nature are a big part of his character, and the character I'm looking for follows the same... vibe.

This plot revolves around my character encountering a wolf in the woodlands. Over time, he bonds with the wolf, they become close friends. However, surprise! Surprise! He eventually finds out that his wolf friend is actually no wolf, but a shapeshifter capable of turning into a wolf. Even bigger surprise! The wolf is actually an acquaintance of his!

What is important is that the shapeshifter lives a dual life: one of a regular person, one of a wild wolf. Perhaps she (it's a woman, read more below) is facing some life issues, and she chooses to shapeshift into a wolf and runs around the woods for the sake of forgetting about her responsibilities and freeing herself from them. This could help her bond with my character who has fled from society to live as a hermit, more or less. Shapeshifters are a regular species on the site, but she keeps her shifting abilities a secret.

Important Information:

» this is mostly an amiable wanted ad (my character befriends the wolf, subsequently befriends the human as well once the beans are spilled), but my character can definitely fall in love with the shapeshifter once the finds out the truth (I'm open to that development)
» the shapeshifter is a woman, probably in her late 20's or early 30's (somewhat close in age to my character, who's 35)
» shifter, keeps her abilities a secret, lives a dual life (more above)
» personality is up to you! -- I imagined her to be somewhat motherly, caring, protective of the younger characters that are on the site, perhaps?
» history is up to you! -- I mentioned that she might have some life issues, so feel free to elaborate on that!
» FC is up to you! -- I don't have any special requirements for the FC! She's meant to be an adult character, so maybe don't choose a FC that looks 12, I guess. I don't really have any suggestions regarding it, go wild! Also, my character's FC is Trevor from the Castlevania Netflix series, so Sypha definitely comes to mind...? :eyes:

That's probably all I wanted to mention! I have a plethora of possible mini-plot and thread ideas for this, I can definitely share some of those!
