The Gakudan is the yakuza that has power well beyond that of the common gangs and criminals rushing around the streets. Intricate networks are intertwined by the Gakudan that connects all criminals together in one way or another. It's a commonly known name, but the Gakudan's shrouded in mystery aside from the general populace having passing knowledge that it exists. Or that it existed at one point, that is. The yakuza is seen as a massive web left behind by the previous spider that created it, the Third King that had been arrested during the Fall. The current leader of the Gakudan is, for the most part, unknown, outside of a specific few within it's ranks. [break][break]

The only concrete signs of activity from the Gakudan, in the eyes of heroes, civilians, and the police, seems to be from a casino in the Shibuya Ward. A common rumor drifting around about the Kake Casino is some seeing notable crime lords come and go from it a lot. Those are just rumors though, as the casino is a popular vacation spot for locals and foreigners alike. It has an expansive arcade for younger audiences to enjoy, so these rumors tend to come across as edgy words of teens trying to seem cool. [break][break]

For those on the streets, the name Gakudan has a lot more meaning. Invoking a sense of fear and respect, it's massive spread still bares it's fangs. Quietly, it looms over the streets with a chef in every crime ring's kitchen. It's unclear who might be involved with the group, so it's recommended one treads carefully. Though, there is talk of the yakuza being always open to those that seek it - offering shelter and a place to call one's own. Gakudan has no place to judge your past sins, after all.

The Gakudan's main activities revolve around keeping an eye on the smaller crime rings within Japan, specifically Tokyo. However, the members of the central unit of Gakudan do more than just management activities, of course. Infiltrating the common man's businesses to get their fingers in the profit, having the occasional crime spree under the guise of just being a basic street rat, the Gakudan's activities range greatly with a rather laidback atmosphere. Their goal is unclear, but they have no intention on letting anyone escape their ranks once they've joined. [break][break]
