Imo, I don't think the drama comes from rp. It comes from people. People that start drama will start it regardless, if there is no rp drama to start, then they will just start gaming drama. If there is no gaming drama, they will make something up to pull out of thin air.

That's just my two cents.
I've actually seen the complete opposite happen 😭 Sites will die long before the random group of VC gamers leave. The people with the extended family/ ghost discord roles for VC only never engage in arguments, it's the rpers who make their ships/being the main character of a fictional world their entire personality that usually causes issue. The gamers in servers i find are too focused on cosmetics/pulls/stats/ranks to be bothered by what someone else. 🤷‍♀️
i don't think you've been in a gaming server long enough then. the kyurem voter fraud was just a month ago. i've seen a lot of drama being a raider in WoW, causing raid teams to implode. i remember a guy randomly blocking us all one day because he was getting "too emotionally attached" and he didn't want us to talk to him anymore, and we didn't realize that was what he was doing, so we were all freaking out. you kinda have to vet gaming servers to make sure they aren't nazi havens, and i'm not even exaggerating at all. hell that's what happened to my gaming server in 2016-- we had to see who was a cool person and who was going down Q Anon pipelines.

i won't lie that a lot of RP sites exist mostly as social groups and not for posting tho, so might as well join a gaming discord. Please do not assume there will not be drama, tho, and do be careful with gaming servers. a lot of the public ones are... dubious. gaming can have great experiences, ofc, and i enjoy mine. but yeah, drama will follow u everywhere, so my ultimate recommendation is "do what your heart says" and don't worry too much about "bad experiences" b/c even if i'm pointing out the worst it can get, i also know a great many wonderful people through gaming.

i think a lot of people would want kids if they could realistically have them, tbh, but given the cost of living and (at least in America) the dangers involved, childfree is just a more reasonable mindset. "involuntarily childfree" really comes to mind for me, because yeah i'd love to have kids. there's no way i'm having them right now. a child is a whole-ass person and there's no way I can support one in my current state, and it's looking like that's gonna be the case for a long time.

like honestly while i've seen a few edgy childfree people that are just ageist assholes, most childfree people I know tend to be extremely concerned about the welfare of potential children they'd have, and that's why they choose to be childfree.

i think the costs associated with raising a child are overstated. we don’t make “a lot of” money, insurance is “alright”, and our son has barely made a dent in our COL. and that’s in a place where the COL is generally batsh*t.

what it does do, and only that in particular senses, force you to adapt to a new lifestyle. i think that’s what most people tend (implicitly, if not explicitly) to worry about.
