And that time when he broke from tim’s constant suspicion/criticism (partly bc he was understandably bitter that dick chose damian, an outsider, as a robin when he and tim have always been close) and basically saying the tl;dr of my post: he can’t do anything abt his past but he’s still trying and tim is being way too unfair. I love that panel bc you can really hear damian’s voice. How he’s hurt, afraid, and affronted

Normally when you make a new character who is the child of the protag it’s cringe but then you have damian wayne who has the edgy background of child assassin raised to blablabla but then you feel his actual loneliness, his need and want to be accepted, the desperation, and then the eventual conflict of how he has to carry the weight of being born in circumstances he didn’t ask for, and trying to make up for it, always feeling anxious and on the edge that he’s fail, that he would be pushed away again. Judged for things he had no control of

And also how he ties so beautifully with dick grayson, the legacy, his bio dad’s fav son, the new gen superhero icon

And they actually did write all of this BUT THEN NEW 52 CAME ALONG AND POOF

anyway i love damian i hug him also his friendship with jon kent… WHICH THEY ASLO RUINED BY HAVING JON AGE INTO AN ADULT AND IDK LIVE IN A FUTURE TIMELINE OR SOMETHING SIGH

(I also just think damian is such a good way to write a character of his background. tho dick grayson is 98% of the good that made him) (bless dick grayson) (he’s so good the writers hate him and always do him disrespect) (fanfic writers do better)

leaving funny comments on yaoi has made it instinctual for me to leave comments on every ao3 chapter even if i don’t have a lot to say
