Cruel Glory is an illustrated cyberpunk roleplay that borrows elements from Quantum Break, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Cyberpunk 2077. Whilst some attributes from each franchise will be inspiration, the setting will still be original and no prior knowledge to any of these games will be needed whatsoever. The premise of CG surrounds 3 megacorporations overthrowing the government with their technology to become the new authority and how technology caused a divide among the country, forcing people to pick one side or the other. They've created their own government organization to separate any corporation influence that could potentially affect the new government (or so they claimed). It'll take place in a fictional city called Rogue in Maine, USA, where it had became the new capital of the country. These 3 megacoporations all have an affect on how technology have shifted mankind into a direction of crime and cruelty: Corporation 1: Corporation #1 is the biggest out of the three; known to buy out other corporations and remodel historical landmarks into a corporate property. They are most specialized in human physics to understand how the human body can excel into greater lengths. This led to the creation of Elecs, humans that can create and manipulate electricity. Once used as a plan originally for the police force and military had turned into an accidental electromagnetic radiation that had installed fear and hatred into non-Elecs and even into some Elecs themselves. (Inspired by Quantum Break. This will probably be the main story of the site.) Corporation 2: Corporation #2 is known for their robotic and artificial implants/organs known as Augmentations. They were inspired by Corporation #1 in wanting to improve the average citizen's body, but backfired when their Augmentations accelerated the individual's violent tendencies and other negative traits. This illness was dubbed "Auglunacy" and although there have been treatments to help reduce or prevent the chances of Auglunacy from appearing, many people grow weary when they spot someone who has Augmentations installed in their body (inspired by Deus Ex: Mankind Divided/Cyberpunk 2077). Corporation 3: Corporation #3 has had a few controversies to their name, but they're still a big corporation that match with the other two in wealth and influence. They produce robots (humanlike or full on robotic) that have aided in the military and are now sold to the public as employees, maids, butlers, etc. There have been rumors of an robotic uprising and Corporation 3 replacing all human life with robots. Some robots have also been known to rebel and develop a mind of their own. CG aims to explore the morality of the corporations, those who run it, and those who work it. All three corporations have the common goal to help advance the human race with technology while having their fingers crossed behind their backs and become the only corporation to rule with an iron fist. In other words, they see themselves as heroes as they view other corporations as villains. The public, on the other hand? The opinions vary. It also aims to dive deep into the world's politics and the social classes that either benefit or suffer from each policy made (e.g. each social class are given their own districts and are meant to stay in them. Some are good, others are bad, but who exactly are going to want to stay restricted in a district designated to them?). This, as expected, also breeds gangs as a result from the new government that ruled for a while. Other people? They just want to either leave as quickly as possible or just try to live a more peaceful life. Now just a few other things to touch up on:
A friend of mine and I have started working on the site since we managed to buy a skin we think would be perfect for the site. We'll still work on this regardless, but we just wanted to see if there's any interest for this idea! |
