a'right so title! just gush on your plots and dev! i realized i never really had an outlet to be able to do this and talk about it to someone from my recent rping. and i think i did really neat things and if no one can appreciate them, then i will!!

so this is actually pretty big for me in hindsight. i did stop rping for a few years after silly staff drama + my dog dying later (yeah kinda of a major oof lmao). and i've only recently came back and i came back strong!! i accumulated a total of 200+ posts in 3 months and all that i was thinking, "wow this must be how x feels" because my x friend would be easily writing up posts w/o losing quality and i'm like ?? how. i mean, not that i know either how i was able to do mine but

so it was an rp site and i am of course talking about wallace! yes, yes, you can call me cringe!! yes, i enjoy playing my favorite character and i th ink everyone should love him!! though i will say while i've played him before, i can't say i love him this much as i did. 

anyway since he was a champ and all and there was a conflict in the region, the expectation is to be badass and help right? but i like doing these curveballs things. i wouldn't want to be like any other character. i like to present a different perspective and i do think it all fits. i had wallace be inspired to go 'cause of quaxly and go there to raise a whole paldean team. since there's a primary conflict on fighting, i wanted to focus on themes of pokemon and pokemon training. which does coincide with wallace's perspective of what pokemon fighting should be. how it shouldn't be about crushing others, subjugating but about learning about each other and showing how beautiful pokemon are! and since this was mostly based on the game, i also wanted to approach how the effects of oras impacted him. as that was a failure on his part as guardian. i had a lot of things cooking! lots of themes and i really wanted to explore his style of "aquatic illusions." 

it was super fun bc wallace gets to interact with so many characters who normally may be harder to bc of the high ranking position. it was very hilarious that he ended up threading with so many nieces while his actual niece wasn't around! but i think what really surpriesd me was how many characters perceived him as someone popular and part of their inspo. like, i wasn't actually ready for that lmao. even i didn't think wallace was that big but i rolled with it. wallace, icly, was surprised too

but that did help me plot out his past. it was with his thread with ember in particular. she recognized wallace and was having a panic attack so i mentioned about how wallace had that too once (in his thoughts.) these happenings in the threads prompting me to explore parts about my character has to be my favourite part of it all. it's not something people saw i do and wished i was able to talk more about how cool it was. it's a small detail of connection but it's super neat!!

then he also had a secret base and ended up housing archie from team aqua. one of my earliest threads actually. kyogre was involved so that also made me think about that whole guardian/sootopolitan stuff. his last thread was actually a sequel to all of these, and wallace died (not for real but it is perfect that that's my last post.) but you know, working with a good guy character with a situation that they're not normally as is really special. it's not an opportunity to be had often! something i didn't get to write, but was the basis of it: wallace genuinely had nothing against the guy who almost destroyed his region and well, still impacted the environment (one of wallace's pokemon was a victim of it.) archie was understandably confused and even sus of it. but something wallace has always been told regarding his position: people will always crave for power. it doesn't matter when or who. there will always be someone. so he had nothing against the guy bc it would have been anyone. it didn't have to be him. 

and eventually while wallace was closed off at first and hesitant to fully bridge a connection with him because...well, it's still kind of hard to. he eventually does! maybe it doesn't mean much but for me (and him) that was a pretty big thing. like for me, i was thinking about how to go about it exactly. to approach a relationship like that where there wasn't anger, no guilt. it wasn't that kind of thing. just the unwillingness to...jump the gap! that's it! and wallace decided to jump it and he doesn't regret it! 

and then there was this thread where it ended into wallace discovering how much he loves caring for eggs! it was so good. not a dev i expected but what i am totally down especially bc it made the gap between him and his fan disappear and they're just big chilling! and i also got to write some perspectives that normally don't come up during threads.

so you know, all these far, i think this is why i do stand by slice-of-life. moments are what sticks to your character, and give them the push they may need if they decide to take it. like you know, i've only been in sites with major conflicts. but it's specifically because of that that SOL are even more important. 

oh there was this relationship with his quaxly. this was turning into a super good development, honestly! so first the backstory i didn't get to write ic about quaxly: quaxly is a wild pokemon. she was friends with another wild pokemon (i forgot what it was exactly) and the two of them often hang out foraging. but one day, a trainer battled her friend. quaxly was scared and just watched from a safe distance. when they fainted, quaxly didn't know what to do, so she grabbed some berries to help them out. but at this point, her friend opened their eyes and interpreted this as quaxly taking all the food because she's always been quite a hungry one. her friend lashed out, feelign betrayed. bc of this, quaxly associated food foraging with something very negative. eventually she stops eating all together, which is what lands her in the sanctuary where wallace adopts him

and she's introduced as someone very quirky and voracious. wallace has to prepare her food all the time and help burn the energy. she was incredibly high-maintenance that wallace would even hire the sitter for quaxly to spend time w/o being bothered with steven. but the turning point of this relationship is when wallace was hounded by media. normally he's cool with that but kind of got blindsided and he realized that if he had his hoenn pokemon with him, this wouldn't be an issue. he can wave them off easily, scare them with his team. the realization that he can't rely on quaxly, that does imply - are they really partners? that maybe the gap between champion and a lvl 5 dude may be more important than he realized.

this was going to connect with a bird specialist named faelan. who took care of quaxly during her time in the sanctuary. BUT WHAT'S GREAT ABOUT HERE IS LISTEN - this wasn't the first thing we plotted. you know that egg thread with the fan? i insisted on taking a selfie with her and wallace in the lake and i just, looked through the list of who is in the sanctuary and saw a character i've rped with with my oc. so i was like, hey, want to take a selfie? and they were like, yeah! and then when i had to drop my oc, and we tried plotting again. this came up. AND ALSO that was the day quaxly was getting adopted SO LIKE. it all somehow freaking connected in a most hilarious but also true-to-life way. faelan didn't know who adopted quaxly bc wallace wanted to keep it quiet. he didn't realize the guy he helped took a pic for is that guy. and so supposed fast forward, wallace would come back to inquier abt quaxly and that would have been a realization that they have somehow already met by accident. quaxly was going to be under faelan's care for a while and i'm even prepared to permanently give her away if it's what's best for the two of them

and ugh wallace had a finizen called larissa. she has this shakespear font when she pokespeaks and acts like a big shoujo character. but i planned that when she evolves, she turns into all-might and wouldn't respond to her usual name. her muscle form name would be called larimar, following after the blue gemstone themes of his paldean pokemon. and i so badly wanted to be able to rp wallace showcasing a cool beauty performance with larimar.

AND OH GOD I ALMOST ENDED THIS POST BUT I CAN'T FORGET ABOUT THE WALLACE AND RIKA THREAD GEEZ. we didn't even plan anything specific but i had an open up and they acme into that open! it was in the asado desert, oh and i did have this past origin about wallace being more ground-oriented at the start. and you know, hoenn has a cool desert! anyway, it was so wild how it turned into a very philosophical talk AND I'M ALL FOR THAT. like holy moley i love characters talking about these deep shit more than anything. it's also not something i've really had the chance to engage with with someone. and uh, we were actually planning to go on a romantic route bc they really hit it off! and it's a big thing for me and wallace 'cause wallace... okay let mjust copy paste im getting tired

His story is that he was used to losing friends bc they would have feelings for him. He talks abt love, loves hearing abt love, and loves to see people falling in love. But very rarely puts himself in that picture…

what wallace doesn't realize (and what i myself learned later lmao) is that he's demiromantic. so it's just a lack of experienec in general and would have been such a blast ot have been able to explore more of that with rika! and i have given it a lot of thought hehe. he would try very hard to make it work and i think that would have held him back was ihs confusion and guilt over not understanding his feelings to steven. bc he thinks that if he have these feelings, he'll have to stop being friends with steven and that's something wallace cannot live with. he doesn't get that it doesn't have to be that way but it FEELS that way! also this plot point, i was thinking of bringing up (should we cross that bridge) using wallace's collection of derpy steven images. i was legit collecting them :)) wallace was gonna bel ike, "listen rika... this secret of mine... i have a collection of his silly face and i can't let this go" yeah i love putting big silly things into drama but legit though! they are important. it's what made wallace sure he can't forgo his friendship with the guy no matter what. but crossed fingers, it would have worked out and maybe he'd understand what's going on in his heart... oh and this is all w/o steven's involvement yet. it was a recent stuff haha

edit: also when rika asks if he'd be interested in meeting again for something more "official", wallace was gonna be like, all right... and then be like "i thought you were into women" AND IT'S FUNNY IN MY HEAD I HOPE IT'S FUNNY IN OTHER PEOPLE'S HEADS

i'm probably missing more things to gush out about my incredible though short-lived adventure. but being able to just ramble about these makes me feel proud! had a big smile just talking about this!! 

SO. you should do it! don't feel embarrassed! don't care about what others think! if you need a space to just spew about the plot and dev you've had, go!!!!
