I am going to make five million characters. Some of them are going to be queer. Even if it's a setting that's anti-queer (historical, etc) I'm going to have queer characters.

If filling in the orientation field is required, all of my characters are aroace until proven otherwise

Also I have severe altaholism brought about by cute fcs but I'm getting better, I swear

oh and the first thing I do after making my first character is look through plotters and requests bc I love attachments to other characters sm!

Jk but for the most part, when I start off on a site, I want to fill a wanted ad. Pay it forward, and hopefully get settled on the site because otherwise, I'm not really brave enough to make something standalone at first ahgiopewhi some of my favorite characters have come from me wanting to fill people's wanted ads

for cast (i use “cast” lightly as it’s extremely rare i write more than one character) i need someone two-faced and/or mean and definitely (mildly) evil/morally dubious. 

if my roster doesn't have at least One(TM) hot mess twink i can put in the washing machine and set it on high, it's not my roster.

my roster is half doomed twink and half byronic women. i blame pathologic.

i usually end up with chars who have some sort of trauma to work through, so having that buffer of himbo is like a necessary palate cleanser

- fill a want ad, or make a want ad that is never getting filled. Maybe if I'm feeling extra brave it will be both

nodding in the mirror every time i join a site like i am ready to make a character that is so transgender.............. otherwise i like characters with curious tendencies/who tend to stick their noses where they don't belong. people whose selfishness and desire to have what they want without fully realizing the consequences gets them into trouble/ends up digging them into a hole they can't climb out of... chef's kiss

my #1 must-have is always a cocky little bastard that must be served a slice of humble pie. especially if they're rich and has no idea how the world works asides from their privileged lenses.

look for whoever fcs sunday and propose to them ic-ly , but if theyre already permashipped to someone else's character then i guess i'd persuade them for a smooch .

for someone who isn’t really a loudmouth, I sure write a lot of loudmouths—

other repeats I have found myself committing: ANXIETY GREMLINS!! criminals, single dads, angry girls, and honestly, i will seize upon any opportunity to write two no good very bad people being disgustingly soft and normal together. the juxtaposition between writing heinous acts and heists with every day domesticity and quiet contentment? It gets me every!! time!!

that said I also like to write the tender mundane with normal ocs too— really drawing out the idea that there is depth in simple routine acts.
