i bit the tongue behind my teeth (it was never good enough for me)
i really need to write and do staff things but my brain has been completely consumed by honkai star rail. and everything else until i get my fix is irrelevant. ...also easter is this Sunday.

(my million excuses to weasel outta responsibilities)

I probably don't tell them enough, but I'm really grateful for the friends I've made through rp. I think sometimes rp boils down not only to the amazing stories you tell in a collaborative setting but also to the connections you make and the friends you have because of it. :')

Am I feeling a tad sentimental at this current moment? Absolutely.

I've probably said this before, but I really want to explore more long-term and slow-burn plots. The trick is finding patient and dedicated writing partners who are willing to hold out long enough for them to... well, go somewhere, ahaha. They feel like a precious gem or rare flower nowadays!

I am one of those people and it's always like "do I spend five years telling a story or do I hit myself with a paper fan anime style and write a 2m word fanfic" and so far the fanfic has won but I do hope there's more people who would like telling those types of stories.

it's so nice to update a character's relationship tracker and realize they've gotten to know and befriend so many people over the course of an rp.... almost enough to make up for the fact that i have to write So many blurbs to fill this whole thing out T.T

Doing god's work out there — I always loved reading the blurbs of an evolving relationship, even if I never thanked my partners enough for doing it.

A similar-ish thing I did for a bit and should reinstitute was "Testimonials", where I'd quote a really great line from a post or invite my partners to do an IC opinion thing and add that to the profile - always with permission, ofc. Was a great way to get that at-a-glance relationship status, personality section, and also laugh at great threads, all in one.

.... brb gonna go reread everything my friends ever wrote

I wrote with someone like this not too long ago. It was my policy to accept whatever mistake they made as being canon, and I told them there was no need to edit it or feel bad about it.

I don't mind we were talking in the bathroom and suddenly our characters are in the bedroom because you misread something.

I am not sure if anyone else finds this helpful, but I swear, sometimes brainstorming with a physical notebook and writing down history, misc, power, etc ideas for characters sometimes is very calming a good way for my brain to start working for that character.

I sometimes use physical notebooks when I get stuck! It works really well!

I could be wrong, but I believe I read somewhere that there's a reason for this! the act of writing something out on a physical piece of paper uses different neural pathways than typing, so it tricks your brain into thinking in a different mindspace than typing the words does. It works almost like a change of scenery and allows for better creativity, like an artist moving from a closed room to an open field to paint or something like that.

-I could be completely wrong but I swear I read it somewhere once upon a time-
