One Piece site centered around one island. Look, I get it. It's fun to be a pirate, and travel, and have your character search for the one piece, but it's just too big a scope for a roleplay to be wholly feasible. You could still get that pirate sailing the seven seas vibe by having missions revolve around trips to seek out treasure and all that.

I always held myself back from engaging with FF7, because I knew I'd be down bad for Sephiroth. Anyway, in the last week I beat OG FF7 & FF7R and I'm currently working through Crisis Core. I pre-ordered the Sephiroth amiibo, and my brain is absolutely pickled in Sephiroth. Kind of feeling the muse to RP him somewhere, but I'm baby and he's popular.

Seeing the arguments for "please avoid", I can see how even the wording of "please tag" isn't exactly perfect, but I definitely do not want to see the proliferation of using "please avoid" instead of triggers. Generally speaking, I almost always put unreality/depersonalization in my please tag section, because it is actually a trigger for me. However, I also love writing unreality stuff, and have a site concept based around it. It's just a situation where I need a warning before encountering it to properly prepare myself for it and any consequences. It's not something to avoid, but something to keep in mind.

Also, in regards to it being difficult to remember everyone's please tags, I personally operate on a level where I always tag common content warnings and discuss the please tags of anyone directly involved in the thread with them, but don't sweat keeping in mind every member on the site. Like, I know people do read threads they're not in, but it's really sort of impossible to keep track of on especially large sites when not everyone does read threads they're not in. If that makes sense.

It was mentioned in Random Thoughts, but I'm in the camp of moving away from using the phrase "trigger warning" in relation to online content in general and moving more towards "content warning" or in the case of skinning having a section for "Please Tag". I think with trigger warning being the more popular term it's diluting the gravity of what a trigger is, but also in collaborative spaces it's important to be aware of peoples squicks just as much as it is their triggers. So, content warning just makes more sense. It's a warning of the content for anyone who might not want to engage with or read a certain type of content.

is it normal to get mix of a bunch of anxiety + adrenaline when accepting apps or am i just weird
I definitely get this. The exact mix of feelings really depends on which # app it is for a member. If it's the first one I'm lowkey a little anxious about whether or not they'll stick around / fit with the site but also optimistically excited that there's new blood! For repeat apps it's definitely adrenaline + excitement to see what they're bringing.

But also a little anxiety for like "oh god what if I fucked something up somewhere".

Repeat after me: Any post is better than no post! Don't get wrapped up in writing the most perfectest post in the world. Some posts will be long, some will be short. Some will be shit, some will be masterpieces. The important thing is giving your partner something legible that pushes the plot forward, rather than accidentally ghosting a thread just because you didn't think your writing was good enough. Especially since I feel like most sites these days are low or no word counts.

Genuine question, why not just upscale current 88x31 affiliates to 100x35? They don't look that different and saves the hassle of dedicating an entirely different spot for the new affiliates. You can say the affiliate size is 100x35 if people want to make accurate sizings but doesn't alienate current 88x31 ones. Idk if there's some unsaid etiquette about affiliate images being resized tho? but I personally wouldn't care for mine being upsized

Also the "Project 100x35" image is a little hard to read since it's red on red, if the words were white/other contrast it would be easier

Those are just my suggestions tho since I hope it takes off!
Not Kuroya, but upscaling does look different, and depending on the aff button can make it difficult to read. It's especially egregious on the pixel fonts that a lot of buttons use because it adds anti-aliasing where there wasn't any. I grabbed a couple random buttons to give an example.

Anyway, came to give my support! If/when I make another site I'll definitely be adding a 100x35 version of the button. :)

When I was younger, I used to go by B and after trying a few different handles I wanted to sort of call back to that era without all of the annoying consequences of having a one letter alias. I also wanted to have a bug related alias. I've always liked beetles to some degree, but since taking the alias I've definitely made beetles my Personality. I say, drinking out of a mug with beetles on it. sdfs

I've been covering for a different department at work for the last month and I'm so ready to get back to my original department. I should be going back soon, since they said it would only be about a month, but there's been no updates on that. orz
