There's merits to planning and obviously major things should be discussed or touched upon at some point to ensure everythingโ€™s on board and all that, but I do have lots of fun not-quite-knowing what will happen next. There is a balance to strike, which can really depend on who you're writing with and the characters invovled as well

Iโ€™m on maybe a 20% planned / 80% emergent preference, and of course, this isnโ€™t really set-in-stone, but it is fun assigning percentages to things


i'd have to agree! coin flips and dice rolls are great in terms of not completely controlling the environment/narrative and giving your character different situations to respond to on the fly.

batman + joker + major gotham ppl are just event npcs to assist in driving a story.

2022 has been the year of kings, queens, and knights.

i demand 2023 to be the return of our overworked/underpaid doctors, teachers, and police officers.
