The World of Veil, “Santinakpan”
The council of nine gods, the Bathala, created the ninth world as if it is the last. Its breath, it inherits, from the lives of its previous lives. Santinakpan, a shining spectacle in the dead of night, is molded from its predecessor, walked by beings created from the worlds bygone.[break][break]
Bathalas first created the Nunos, who will open the gates once more into the New World, carrying the memories of the earths extinct and serving as the Keepers of the Old Worlds. And then They created the Diwatas, Stewards of the Earth who will nurture gods’ creation and spread Color and Beauty. Third came the Baganis, creatures with god-given strength and power to serve as the Wardens of Order. And then there were the Pusongs, the Convoys of Change who will serve guardians of the souls.[break][break]
And then the Bathalas created humans, Taos, the epitome of Innocence whose existence is an oasis of Wonder. Together with the humans are the animals, Hayops, who will walk, swim, and fly amongst them. The Bacterias were next, created to live for hundreds of years until the time the Nunos will close the gates once again.[break][break]
And then there was the mysterious Mangindusa, the creatures of Fate who are the Guardians of the Grand Design. And then the last god created the unknown, for no one knows except for Them, what it truly was. The Hidden is integral in the Grand Design of things and in keeping the Order of the world.

They Who Watch the Night
The world that you once knew is no longer the same. The creatures that walked only in comic book pages and television screens are now tailing behind. Fangs bared salivating, eyes glaring with intent to kill. Monstrous limbs galloping through the concrete, closing the distance between your distressed sprint. If this is truly like those scenes in movies, then maybe someone out there is waiting, watching beneath the veil of night, waiting for an opportunity to attack.[break][break]
They are the Nightwatchers: a secret organization of Baganis and humans working together to save the world from the wrath and cunning of the Creatures of Night. They have been in the world since the darkest of nights, when the children of the dark creep through the crevices of their homes, feeding upon their fears, their flesh, and their souls—the poisons tainting the earth.[break][break]
No one knows when or how they are conceived in the world. To most people and Bagani, they are the Aswang—changelings, ghouls, witches, half-humans, and monstrous creations who have no soul and will not second guess in killing and devouring anything living. Only a few wise individuals will distinguish one from another. But they are correct about one thing: that all of them are one and the same—children of the enigmatic and deceitful Tiyanak of Tabon, a demon born from Twilight that will lead to the darkest of nights.[break][break]
Unbeknownst to the Baganis and humans, they are not the only one watching through the night. The Pusongs are waiting until no light pierces through the blanket of black. Only then shall Light shine at its brightest—Tala, the Tiyanak’s other half—and shall be able to kill Their evil twin.
[attr="class","section flex"] [attr="class","labeltext"] 03[attr="class","rule"] [attr="class","maintext"] A/NThe Nightwatchers is an AU animanga roleplay inspired by the Janus Silang book series and the various and rich Filipino mythology. For those of you who do not understand Filipino and/or has no opportunity to read the books, it is a story about how a teenager discovers the fantasy world he’s playing in his video games is actually his reality and that he is a púsong (like his video game character) destined to save the world by finding the sibling of the Tiyanak, tala. The story draws heavily from various folklore in the Philippines, and has a story conceived from the legends and myths of the country.[break][break] There have been a lot of fantasy RP forums, but none that explores the world I am most familiar with and I bet this could give a distinct flavor to our favorite fantasy tropes and still feels familiar yet entirely different.[break][break] Initial expectations? I imagine Nightwatchers to have the following RP themes/elements:[break][break] - Aswang Raids: Group threads with other Nightwatchers tasked to terminate Aswangs ravaging the cities[break][break]
- Exploration & Worldbuilding: Explore the “underworld” of Santinakpan, the history of the Old Worlds, and even the quest to find Tala[break][break]
- Multiple races: Each race will have their own quirks and abilities. Thinking of having at most three, but may change in the future, depends![break][break]
- Bayani-Anito Tandem (BAT): As I mentioned before, the story involves a video game that eventually becomes the main character’s reality and I wanted to integrate one of its systems despite not heavily drawing from the video game mechanics. In summary, BAT is having a main character of any playable race with an “anito” (can be a personal Nuno or Diwata) of their own that will fight alongside them
[break][break] This is initially an interest check but I am leaning towards developing it thoroughly! However, I wanted to take things slow and really involve possible roleplaying partners in the process. Let me know if you’re interested and/or if you want to help!
