I don't know if anyone else does this, but sometimes if I see someone not getting plot attention, I will go talk with them and plot. I know people appreciate the reach out since I have seen it a lot before. Especially since you are entering a new space where you may not know that many people; small or big. So there is a lot of importance in the attitude and activity of an admin. It also works to making community building difficult since sometimes you do get busy and making posts can be difficult. Overall though, I do find it an interesting commentary as someone who has admined a lot and seen it a lot.
I do say there is a small caveat to this, especially if the site is growing at a rapid pace. Don't spread yourself too thin with threads. But I do agree that it's still good to be active and trying to engage with newer people, even if you can't thread right away. It may be help some older members some oomph to help and try to plot with newer people as well. Especially if they see the admin(s) are making an effort.

Also, my only little what's on my mind: we're starting to do some beta-testing for our guidebook to make sure things make sense for our setting. I appreciate the one person that's been looking it over so far because while there's grammar mistakes and some things that may need to some minor rework, it's nice to have fresh eyes on something that hasn't been either touched in a few good months or it's something we haven't thought about. Anyone willing to help do that gets the biggest hugs and hearts from me. v u v <3~

Original FF Site, not exactly based on any specific FF setting, but takes heavy inspiration/themes from them for its own world and plot. Basically a fusion of locations, systems, etc from the franchise. ie; Magic, Materia, Summons, but also the whole fantasy/scifi environment. Like Midgard and Garlemald can exist side-by-side with Baron or Alexandria. It can have canons but canons exist in that setting instead of being isekai'd. Also of course gotta have OCs.
What friends and I are working on are kind of close with some heavy-FF inspired areas/concepts (some areas a lot more high fantasy while others more steam punk). But it's still gonna be a while off before anything gets released tho. Definitely won't be FF canons unfortunately. But hey it's close? Ahaha.

Also, for my own selfish wants, I once again would love to see a mabinogi-based rp after getting back into the game for a bit. Fighting and slice of life, yes please~

A college/adult-themed persona rp.
For some reason my brain went for adult-themed to be some weird ass corporate ladder type hellscape loosely based off the Dante's nine circles.

.... Actually that isn't a bad idea

Reading through the thread so far on what's going on with the re:skin discussion, I do agree with that there really isn't a lot of coding resources for RPers. While CTTW was up and had some resources along with another one (I can't remember the name lmao), there was some that we could at least try to look back at... But for someone either learning to code for jcink or just getting their feet wet on what Jcink can do, it is going to be daunting. And to be honest, while I prefer forum RP over discord RP, I can understand why people lean more into discord - there's a lot less 'barrier-to-entry' on having to set up.

As a small aside, we are commissioning a custom for a site we are opening up, but that's because it's a passion project between three of us with love and we think it is worth it. But man, if I knew how to skin (and skin well for that matter), I'd try to do it. :c

now that i've been on a site that does automatic activity checks, i refuse to join any site that doesn't.

do you know how nice it is to have forum software that automatically checks your activity so you never have to post in some thread with proof that you've posted? it's insanely nice.
Wait, there is? Holy moly! I'd love to know what that is.

Also, for my own RP thought: either I'm too tired right now from life or what, but my brain wanting to RP has been minimal for a good few weeks. Granted, definitely taking a break from any big RP regardless of where it is outside of a few 1-on-1 discord RPs but that's... it. Thankfully I have the next few days off so that will probably help re-charge the battery.

i'd like to think that the line between staff and community on my own sites is really thin. i don't really sit apart from any other member, not when they have to put up with my constant stream of dumb shit lol
Honestly, that's how it should be most of the time regardless. We're all here to enjoy a hobby instead of trying to be the gatekeeper on what people can and can't do. That's why guidelines/rules exist to give a baseline and you don't want to come off as ruling with an iron fist. (Trust me, I have experience as a member with staff that acted like it and god...never again.)

Outside of certain things like updating claims, archiving threads, site plot, etc, most of the time staff should be like any other member.

i technically could put this in one of like two or three other threads. but since i'm lazy this morning it's going here

we're schmovin' on getting mock ups ready for the skinner we are commissioning. granted, friend made a much prettier version of the main page mock up than my we're lookin thing for the main profile lol. That being said, at least it's like a normal art commission - we are making sure there's a reference to go off of what we want, even if our PS/CSP skills aren't the best.
