I think for me, the ideal would be:
v Staff-Area # staff-chat # to-do-list
> Essentials # announcements # rules # staff-help # post-notify
v General # chatbox # plotting
v Voice-Channels # General
I like mine to be as lightweight as possible - roles limited to just (staff) and various (faction) roles. No self-assigned roles. In terms of bots, I don't like having any. In general, whatever limits the number of bots and the amount of time staff 'has' to spend on Discord.
I try to keep the channel bloat minimal, I'd prefer to literally only have 1 general channel and maybe like a staff help/questions channel and a voice channel but that's it. Anything that's tangentially 'useful' I would prefer to have on-site in threads. I recognize that all that is pretty radical though lmao, but I'm definitely on the side that Discord is a necessary evil
I mean, people were already complaining about people spending all their time lurking in cbox back when that was still a thing lmao
