Even in well made AI art you can spot the imperfections if you look closely enough, but yeah I agree. Dogpiling is never cool. It's the staff's job to politely tell a member to switch the graphics, and everyone else should just mind their own business.

I'm going to say it. I know I'm an absolute hater, but can we please chill on the Genshin / Honkai faces? They're nice sure, but I'm so tired of seeing someone like Zhongli or Blade everywhere I look. It's giving, "Mom says it's my turn to play the XBOX." It's just like when everyone, and I mean everyone, was using that one guy from Touken Ranbu. You know the guy.

OMG I remember that guy from Touken Ranbu lmaooooo

I'm indifferent to Genshin FCs at this point. I've used one in the past. I think they look cute, but their outfits just kill my immersion. They're so clearly dressed for a fantasy setting, yet I've seen people using them in modern/semi-realistic settings.

I usually search safebooru for whatever FC best fits my OC as I have envisioned them and go with that, but sometimes I might just pick an FC that I think looks cute and build an OC around it.

- that live-action movies were just animated films that were REALLY well drawn (technically true lol)
- that chanting "fart fart fart" increased the chances of catching a Pokemon
- that Shanks was Luffy's father
- that Marik, Ishizu and Odion were actual Ancient Egyptians

It's not that I don't read apps, but as an admin this is something I have to do on a regular basis, so I kinda just skim through them. Then, two months later, I'll be like "wait a minute, your character had a dead wife???" However, if I'm going out of my way to plot with someone, I'll definitely read their app and actually pay attention to what I'm reading.

She could sense a deep, unspoken sorrow in his words. He brought up the common โ€˜if god real why bad thing happenโ€™ debate. God was a weird space giraffe with one thousand arms, maybe thatโ€™s why.

Psychopathic child gets a huge hole blasted through his chest. Somehow stays alive just long enough to confess to his love interest.

Mad monarchist realizes that the event NPCs are also monarchists, so he sides with them, before dying in a blaze of glory.

Evil vampire clown falls down a pit of boiling lava like a true Disney villain. Emerges back from it in a post-credits scene.

What I try to do with my characters: Make them versatile. I've fallen too many times into the trap of creating very niche characters that looked interesting on paper, but after the first few posts I realized "this shit isn't gonna work". Being creative is great, but in an RP setting your character will have to adapt to different scenarios and tones. Lord Doomshade McDeathinghton could work as an antagonist for a one-shot, but not in an RP, where he will be expected to do things other than sit in his dark castle and plot sinisterly.

What I look for in other people's characters: Being proactive. RP is a collaborative hobby and I'm getting older. Having to move a thread forward entirely on my own, while getting the bare minimum feedback from my roleplaying partner, is taxing and drains away all the fun.

Nothing against threads, but guidebooks are superior. They're easier for members to read, and easier for staff to edit. Coding a guidebook can be a hassle, but once you get it to look just right, it's very rewarding. If you look around the interwebs, you can probably find a comprehensive tutorial on how to make a guidebook that's ALSO mobile-friendly.
