I've had this thing happen to me several times where I lost motivation to do a certain thread and my replies slowed down to a screeching halt. I think it's fairly normal, since sometimes life happens, threads might lose momentum, or feel directionless and uneventful. I tend to be upfront about it if my RP partner asks me directly, but the problem is most people are too shy to ask. So yeah, communication is key as well as giving people space and not pushing them.

definitely the community and the collaborative writing aspect. It might not always work out, but when someone throws you a curve ball that goes against what you had originally planned, but also makes you go "hold up, let them cook", it's an oddly satisfying feeling.

I'll parrot what everyone else is saying about slice-of-life threads that go nowhere. Not every thread needs to be high-octane action, but even SOL needs to have a purpose and not be a nothingburger.

Personally, I'll add smut to my list. This is coming from someone who did smut extensively in the past. Now I look at most of those older threads and cringe at my own writing. Fanservice is fine though, especially if it's played for laughs.

FACTION LIFE is an ongoing Digimon RP with no stats, no word count, and a generous progression system. The site has an overarching plot, but how much you engage with it is entirely up to you.

Our character creation rules are relatively lax, allowing you to pick between 3 different factions. Instead of html templates, applications are done by simply filling our your profile! Face claims are not exclusive, so even if you find that an FC you like is already being used by someone else, you're still allowed to use it. V-tuber FCs are definitely allowed.

Piedmon is my all time favorite, but I also have a soft spot for "trash" Digimon like Numemon, Sukamon or Nanimon.

Pokemon x Digimon crossover. Before you say anything, I know what a logistical nightmare that would be. I just hope Pikachu and Agumon can hang out together one day.

After years of editing (or forgetting to edit) FC lists, I've tried doing non-exclusive FCs for my most recent site. So far, the community is thankfully free of FC drama. Then again, most members from what I've seen are still picking unique FCs out of habit/courtesy/whatever you wanna call it.
