words cannot describe how much i love king of the hill. is this your first time watching it? who is your favorite character? for years, my best friend and i in each other's phones were nancy hicks-gribble and john redcorn LMAO

my friends and i have like, a whole list of shows we're watching together, and just pick based on our mood. tv has honestly become enjoyable for me again, watching it with other people, bc i am that pos who talks when watching stuff.

- supernatural
- criminal minds
- star trek (og)
- ink master

It’s not. I watch it pretty regularly!
My favorite character is Dale.
And I love telling ppl it’s my favorite anime. It ticks off certain ppl but the right ones get it.

considering king of the hill has a huge fanbase in japan where they too argue about whether to watch it in the sub or dub, i think we can call it our texas anime

i've forgotten how to read, unfortunately. i have this issue where if i don't immediately start another book after i finish one, i struggle to keep up the momentum. the books i'm reading rn are books that in theory, on paper, i should be all about. might be one of those situations where i just gotta start fresh and come back to the ones i'm trying to read rn.

maybe i just need something completely different from what i'm reading rn. i haven't read a fiction book in almost 2 months, maybe i'll read some braindead procedural or something.

taking recommendations if anyone's got them. i'm trying to be more open minded and try books that normally i wouldn't, and i've been pleasantly surprised a few times! but brownie points if your rec is horror, procedural/law thrillers, thrillers in general, sci fi or any/all of the above
Have you read Carmen Maria Machado's short story collection, "Her Body and Other Parties"?
A few stories are horror, one is a deconstructed procedural + horror. She's also a wlw and her stories are about wlw as well. Content warnings can be checked here: app.thestorygraph.com/books/17646859-a40d-406e-bb2e-57e81ba0e6ec

When I'm in a reading rut, I usually reread favorites, or look at short story collections so that I can read them completely out of order. Did that with Machado a few years back, actually.
omg! i remember when this came out, and i totally forgot about it. thank you for the rec, i will see if can grab it on like, spotify or libby or smth

I just don’t see the faces as a problem. If somebody asked me to share (and I have offered for example to let somebody play the younger version of a face I use) then no issue whatsoever.

not to jump on the bandwagon but honestly, i don't get it either. and honestly i feel like this is one of the very few things that is starting to change for the better, is this weird possessiveness over certain fcs that used to be a lot more common.

like i remember one time i asked a relatively well known person in the community at the time just for the name of the fc they were using bc i thought it was a pretty fc. and the way this person immediately accused me of stealing their character for asking for the name of the fc? like bro i promise i don't care about your character. i just think the fc is cool and have an idea of my own for it.

i dunno, i just assume if someone also wants to use the same fc i have, that that is the case. hell, i might even be more inclined to try and plot with you because they have the same fc. here, take the icons i've had for this fc since 2009. let chaos reign, baby.

if you're truly curious about the process, there are definitely guides out there that can teach you. there's nothing wrong with being self-taught, a lot of us are! i'm not perfect at it but if you were interested, i could offer some help.

good luck on your journey, wherever it takes you!
do you have any recommended guides for skinning? i'm interested in learning but idk where to search/what tutorials are good :0
funny that you mention that! i actually just found this place like 10 minutes ago. it's a base and for jcink, but what's nice about it is that this person labeled all of the variables for you, so until you're more comfortable, you can just kind of pick it apart and edit it to your heart's content. it's a fairly blank canvas as well, so there are a lot of things you could do to make your site look a little more unique even with a more limited skillset. i believe there's also a responsive version of it as well.

i'm a "learn by doing" so this is the type of resource i would use to learn how to do something. i usually find that yeeting the entire stylesheet into codepen at the start, when i intend to skin something, helps tremendously when it comes to transferring the skin back to the site. it's kinda annoying to scroll up & down all the time, but don't be afraid to physically move elements around in your stylesheet. the thing won't break if you move the wrapper closer to the body and :root lmao
