I coded up an entire skin for a new site idea but now I'm too pooped out on that idea and not wanting to go through my selfish gaps of interest putting everyone through the ringer, so now I'm considering on just... giving it away to someone who needs it more than I do? IDK.

Could make it into another premade but I don't have the energy to reformat everything to be generic/customizeable sob

Woah, funny coincidence! I posted about this in the Quick Interest Check thread about the exact same thing!

I think it might be worth looking into whether or not you want to keep certain elements that truly make the series as dark as it goes since that can affect which forum host you're willing to work with, as Jcink Premium is more lenient with these themes whereas ProBoards is a blanket PG13 rating (iirc?)

Regardless, I think a lot of the bloodier/nastier stuff can be "dumbed down" a notch and it wouldn't take away from the concept at all. Just the aspect of modern day witches casting interesting hexes, curses, and spells to solve everyday problems in itself is already a hook for me. Throw in political unrest in the coven, power struggles and feuds between families/castes, and you have yourself a diverse environment for members to pick from!

...Anyway! I'm willing to lend a hand out as well with this, but I'll be fairly busy in the next little while so it's entirely up to your discretion.

Thanks in part of binging half of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, a dark supernatural roleplay focused on covens of witches and warlocks living in secrecy amongst mortals in a sleepy town setting!

I absolutely loved the lore/mythos of the witches' culture, rituals, spells, etc.... basically everything about them in the show. Witches and Warlocks come of age at sixteen years old, whereupon they (literally) sign their soul away to Satan (Ahem, the Dark Lord!) in a pretty spooky satanic cult ritual.

Aside from normal/mortal humans and immortal (in the long-lived sense) witches and warlocks, players could play as familiars or other supernatural beings that creep and crawl in the night.

Quick update: I changed away from the candy pink to a more holographic theme (pinks/blues/purples). Now heavily inspired by BTS's newest song. And the trend of holo themed EDM album covers! 

I went out to grab a coffee and on my way back to the office I saw a drawing of a pair of wings on the road and I was like "oh wow that's a super realistic chalk drawing" walking closer upon inspection it was actually a super flattened pigeon

I started my roleplaying career on a Kingdom Hearts site a very long time ago, so this thread brings back some feelings of nostalgia for me.

I do have some feedback for some of the features you've listed! Take this with a grain of salt, of course, as you are free to shape your site however you wish.

• Option for members to go "rouge" – I'm familiar with KHUX so I understand that the basis of the system is to have character choose one of the four unions to swear their allegiance to. However, it's also good to give members the option to reject that system completely and have them be Unionless. Whether that entails a minor disadvantage could be a welcome challenge members would take if it means agency for their character.
  
  
• Keyblades – I really like the idea of creating my own Keyblade, and slowly progress it by leveling it up via Lux, Mythril Gems, or any other "item drops" you wish to implement. I like to think that my character's Keyblade is an extension/reflection of their soul, and as they mature, so do their Keyblade. Of course, secondary Keyblades (for those dual-wielding Keyblade Masters out there) can be a thing as well, but it would be mainly member-maintained.
  
  This would ease some burden off staff from listing all the Keyblades in existence from across all the KH games, and instead let members handle it. They can purchase power ups, level ups, etc. whatever using Lux from the site shop. Or implement a materia system for added elemental perks.
  
  
• Open-ended plot, character-created Worlds – Totally appreciate the sentiment of allowing players to feel like they're directly influencing the plot, but you also have to keep in mind that most of the time (this is speaking from experience) most members are also happy to follow along whatever storyline you have dictated for them, since it's much easier to react than proactively... well, act. I would suggest that at the very least, play a semi-influential character personally and have them subtly direct the events on the site if you still want to have that feeling of player-character immersion.
  
  Character-created Worlds is a bit of a niche, since people have lots of ideas but there usually isn't enough of a demand to see those boards being used, which results in a bloat of subforums on your board that just looks empty. I would prefer to see perhaps a monthly feedback thread where people can put in suggestions about certain Worlds they like to see, and if it gains enough traction and interest then totally implement it.

That feel when you're super invested in running the site, creating events and engaging your members and then... there's so little time left to focus on you. It's like "oh shit, I forgot I'm also a member of my own site" and then everything that used to be fun and exciting churns into one big chore, killing whatever muse you have left over.

I want my members to have fun, but it's hard staffing at the same time when sometimes the system sucks your life away.
