Premise
You've lived in Itomori for most of your life. Or perhaps you have moved out here to the rural mountainside, desperate to escape your city life? Regardless, this small, charming town holds more than just a few secrets, but there's a certain force that compels you to stay here. On October 13th, during Itomori's annual Autumn Festival, the rumored Comet Tiamat was forecasted to pass the night sky directly above Itomori. Eager to enjoy the sights, you like many of the other townspeople congregate to enjoy the festivities... until a part of the comet breaks off and strikes the town.

What would have been the death of an entire town annihilated within seconds suddenly resets you one month back in September. You think it's all a bad dream, but soon you realize that you most definitely have been transported back in time... and it's not just you, but others too. Armed with your premonition, will you try to attempt to alter fate?

Setting
The small town of Itomori nestled in a valley of the Gifu Prefecture. Population: roughly around 1,250 people. Surrounded by idyllic, scenic nature, Itomori is steeped in a 1,000 year old tradition; however with recent political reforms they are looking to modernize and branch out. Divided into five main neighbourhood districts. Lake Itomori sits in the center of the valley, with Itomori's residents settled along its edge.

System
There won't be any sort of body-switching (yeah I know, it's the main aspect of KNNW) but I liked the idea of the plot being driven by the member's characters in their attempts to twist fate. Since the timeloop is one month, it would tick down to the Autumn Festival being held as a site event once a month (or perhaps an entirely different one depending on member interaction) where they try to save Itomori from Comet Tiamat. Players can choose to be Time Jumpers (the chosen ones who are aware that Itomori is stuck in a timeloop) or be ordinary citizens unwittingly having their lives being replayed over and over again.

That's all I got so far. I think it would be a nice twist on a slice-of-life town rp. Thoughts?

  • I'm not even sure what genre to call this ramble of wants, I thought to ask the community about something that may, or may not ever be made? So, here I go with a checklist of things, whee!

  • Set in Japan, where there are demons; there will be vampires too. Those are considered an offshoot. Not sure how that would be described in lore. No Angels; but humans could receive temporary powers from them, to use for certain callings at any time? Killing bad demons, vampires- or whatever purpose really. I don't want to restrict here?
  • Flukes; half breeds are playable of either demons and humans, or angels and humans. Either way...you're half and half, and powers are able to be used at will. Will leave it up to the player to decide if they're widely accepted by their kin or not.
  • The general public doesn't know about all this supernatural stuff, most debunk it as fake; or are glamored to forget it, or know about it and act according to how they want? You could still play as a normal human, doing your own thing?

Have you ever read the webtoon series Super Secret? It's like your idea except humans can enter contracts with supernatural beings. I like the idea of powers being transferred to humans tho (Super Secret doesn't quite have this aspect... yet) but definitely the whole contract idea coupled with some ghostbusting business sounds fun!

customizing

  • Remember to set up your Custom Fields first before plugging them in/editing the HTML Templates. Be sure to write down the Custom Field #s down so you can plug them in accordingly where it corresponds in the skin.
  • The board images can be edited by adding new div classes called "#b1" with the number "1" corresponding to the forum id number. If you don't know what the forum id number is, simply click on a forum and look at the last digit in the url address. So this means you'll need a new div id class for each board image you want to customize. You can always change the default board image by finding ".boardimg" in the css.
  • The miniprofile hover utilizes this script for full customization for mini profiles you want to make for each member group. Please refer to this script if you wish to add more mini profiles for additional member groups.
  • Be sure to go in every HTML Template to see what needs to be customized/revised according to your needs!

terms of service

  • Due to this skin utilizing a lot of gradients, you'll need to be careful on how you change the colors, etc. if you want to keep the skin looking consistent. If you're having trouble editing the gradients, I would suggest ColorZilla as a quick and simple gradient css generator.
  • General coding troubleshooting should be done in the Coding Help board but any questions or feedback are welcome in this thread. I'll try my best to assist you should you run into problems.
  • As always, please leave my credit/copyright intact!
