listen if your problem with the counter clutter is that it's a mess on the counter but you're perfectly fine with just sweeping that mess into a drawer because you can close it + not see it, we need to square up because absolutely not



not all of us have the executive function to actually clean everything on one go, but we definitely have the attention surplus to be bothered by their existence in first place tbh.

this isnt an @ at anyone but work related but:

i am so sick of people treating triggers and dislikes as same thing. like, just because i dislike a concept or reading/seeing/witnessing it, does not mean it is a trigger and i will likely not add it to my tw’s - i will just try my best not to interact with said content. i am kind of sick of people treating them both the same way or even undermine the word trigger this way.

as someone who has been writing for longer than a decade, i sure hope not or i'll have to name my son something very out there for it to be unique.

on a more serious note, do what you want really, they're just names. hell, even if they were associated with the character, i've written characters that helped me get out of some of the rougher times in my life that i remember super fondly. maybe consider if it'd fit, or if they'd be made fun of and whatnot but that's all it goes imo.

i don't know if you or would be interested but fukai mori (linked in my signature) is doing really well right now. we have a pretty big, diverse community that is very much alive and growing.
hey, thanks for the suggestion but i don't believe i have time for a site with such lore/time period to do it's justice, to be honest with you. but i do appreciate it and hope you guys succeed! i'm just too busy for it myself.

you're probably in the smurf queue though. that place is hell because it's made out of people who were banned for toxicity and re-registered recently.

it's also not representative of the actual "new player" experience since they have a whole different area for themselves. if you make an account and int every other game for a while while having low vision score/low cs etc, you'll probably get placed there. it's a pretty chill place where people ask "easy" questions to themselves and stuff, actually

Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with like.... the amount of reading that people would have to do? Fandom RP, if you like the fandom, you kind of already know a good chunk of the lore and base concepts. Original RP, you gotta read everything in order to know what's going on. And no tea no shade, but for such a literary pastime, when I ran an Original RP, I had so many people complain about how much they had to read (which, imo, wasn't even that much).
To me, this isn't "having to read a lot" but just "how relevant is this information to me?" Like, if a site has a lot of lore that I would use during my posts, I'll gladly go over them to have a better understanding. If it is short but doesn't give me direction or any clues as to how it affects me or my characters, it will feel like a chore. Sometimes it's not the quantity of it.

I do feel like a lot of Original RPs do fall into the latter when it comes to info. Sometimes, since it's all their own creative world, they end up rehauling and doing that quite often too. Like changing systems, informations, plot hooks, location descriptions etc and doing it repeatedly feels like playing catch-up too. It's a tough balance at times.
