Yeah, I'm not one of them. I do usually not enjoy female designs in games because they often focus too much on being either sexy or too ditzy, to the point of impractical clothing choices (boob armour, exposed midriffs, impractically high heels) or just too much focus on the assets (bouncy boobies and that sort of stuff), but I don't lavish hate on a character simply because they're female.

I don't ship much at all outside of canon pairings (Yanqing/Yunli are pretty much pushed in this direction narratively in the game), and if HoYoVerse were to introduce a female character that's canonically into Kinich or Kinich is into her, I'd pull for her just so they can be on a team together.

this may be controversial of me to say but the hate and disdain for female characters (or just, ignoring them entirely) in favor of male characters is extremely fetishistic when done through the lens of strictly yaoi but idk if anyone is ready to unpack that yet

and let me be clear, i'm not talking about people who are male/masc that prefer mlm ships because they themselves are mlm

it's just disappointing how natlan has been handled, first with the lack of dark skin, then the lack of male characters, it's not even balanced, it's just blatantly 90% female.

there aren't a lot of live service games out there that have a balanced cast of characters. the ones that are all male are not to my taste (lads, lovebrush chronicles, tokyo debunker, etc). the only one I can think of right now is twisted wonderland and that game has its own set of problems.

i don't mind balanced casts, but a lot of games that started with a p good balance like genshin impact and reverse:1999 have gone in a predictable "let's just cater to the waifu whales" stance. it's just kinda boring for me.

I’m referring more to a gamer group that’s separate from the rp sphere specifically, a lot of them for example like going on and on about how some of the archons exc suck and should be killed cause there are too many women ones, wish Ayaka got deleted because we only need Ayato so she’s unimportant and useless (I don’t even like Ayaka and it annoys me), want Nahida deleted so Baizhu can take her place, and….a few of them also despise Yelan for no other reason that’s ever been said aside from “too popular for a girl that is basically centered around having boobs”.

imo for the straight girlies & gay guys, i'd reccommend games that border the idolsphere for good all-male (or almost all-male, love you arashi narukami) casts (project of wizard, 18trip, idolish7, ensemble stars, utapri, a3) though some of them are jpn-only. there are others that i will not mention here because proboards is not 18+ but just know there are forbidden texts out there

actually i just realized. The first gacha game i really got invested in is called goddess of genesis. It’s nothing unique but i love it bc it has historical/lore based characters but also because i liked the abe no seimei guy



is his design unique? No. Is he op? No he is one of the worst and his element is also, one of the worst. Does he have a personality? No i def never read about it. But i just liked his aesthetic a lot…

honestly I'm very ehhh on granblue, tbf I've only seen the cast of versus but 90% of them look like either generic action hero dude covered neck to toe in armor or big titty waifu in impractical fighting clothing.

arknights is my go-to for female character designs I'd actually want to wear. the roster is only about 20% men but there's a decent variety in the men too.

reverse 1999 tries at least even if they don't always hit the mark. (0 brown people in uluru and san francisco is 90% white? come ON) but yes also shout out to medpoc
