I actually don't...hate Ingrid from Fire Emblem? I don't like her, mind, but that's just because she's a mediocre unit and just generally unmemorable. Yes, she's racist, but that makes sense within the context of the game and isn't condoned by the narrative. Fodlan needs to have societal problems in a game about societal conflict.

More importantly, it's completely unreasonable to expect every single character in the setting to be enlightened on every social issue. It would make zero sense for an institutionally racist society to produce no markers of an institutionally racist society. To paraphrase someone else on this forum who I won't put on the spot by naming, it's like being bothered by a murderer being in a crime setting on principle, without paying attention to how the narrative or the other characters treat them.

Every time I buy a game with the intention of playing it, and then I don't.

It's like as I get older I'm more resistant to spending time gaming... because it feels like a waste... but I will then endlessly scroll through things instead, which is objectively less satisfying.

Make it make sense, brain.

man, it's amazing how low the bar is that i was so legitimately impressed that lovebrush chronicles made the common sense decision to rerun a specific event immediately before they ran the sequel to it-

i'm gonna be honest— i'm getting really tired of gacha games as a whole. not even just because of the whole "gacha is normalizing gambling and fueling addictions" argument (which i fully agree with, to be clear), but because they're also nightmares for media preservation. a lot of these live service games are really bad in this regard, but the gacha game market is especially horrendous to preserve. most of the gacha games i have tried don't let you replay story content or events and don't have an in-game archive for either, which bugs me so much (i'm looking at you, hoyoverse).
