hit that realization that I dont even want to rp anymore, I just want a group of people to vc and game with casually. I enjoy the discord/socialization but I really just want to game and chill, stay away from the drama that comes from actually rping. Can someone just make a gaming forum or discord or something.

honestly i like this idea. it would be nice to have an adult casual #gamer group community tbh 

Especially because I know the, "rp scene is dying" thing gets thrown around but you go into the discord servers and see 50+ people in it, just 70% lurk and fuck around in the discord instead of writing. But those people are always in the VC gaming with the group nights, it'd just be nice I think. If anyone makes one invite meeeeeee

I've been finding myself in a weird productive rut. I want to do things, such as writing, because I feel energized for it... yet I always end up staring at a blank word doc.

Imo, I don't think the drama comes from rp. It comes from people. People that start drama will start it regardless, if there is no rp drama to start, then they will just start gaming drama. If there is no gaming drama, they will make something up to pull out of thin air.

That's just my two cents.

I've actually seen the complete opposite happen 😭 Sites will die long before the random group of VC gamers leave. The people with the extended family/ ghost discord roles for VC only never engage in arguments, it's the rpers who make their ships/being the main character of a fictional world their entire personality that usually causes issue. The gamers in servers i find are too focused on cosmetics/pulls/stats/ranks to be bothered by what someone else. 🤷‍♀️

Depends on the gamers.

I have known plenty who get toxically competitive or even just talk down to people who aren't as good as them, which.... causes drama.

Or if it's a game where you can customize your character or pick from a roster of characters - get catty and judgemental real quick.

realising that i have nothing to do this weekend but also my partner and friends aren't around bc they're off doing jlpt is both like "ok yay i can actually Do Nothing" but then also "man i dont want to sit alone in my apartment"

and then i realised if i buy some nippers and sandpaper i can build my new gunpla. yippee

nothing going on in my dog's head. just constant white noise and static. she got that thousand yard stare going on
