Tell me which you dread more ; the echo or the answer?
I'm honestly glad I asked, because I wasn't sure if Thread hoarding was something that people in my community did from time to time or if it was a thing that was common among roleplayers!

To also respond to this:

I also post on the go! Mostly I get a little too excited and I post stuff as I'm replying to it, but sometimes if I'm preparing for a big trip (like right now) then i'll hoard everything and post it in the days following up to the day that I leave. That way, I have things to look forward to when i'm back from being away.

Genuinely curious if people prefer to hoard their threads to feel a sense of completion when they post them all at once, or would rather post them as they go.

Here's my thinking.
I've met some roleplayers who are very fast when it comes to responding. And sometimes I just want to feel like I have nothing left to do on a character, it gives me a sense of satisfaction I can't describe, but it makes me proud. Sometimes when I post as I go, people respond as I'm going and it just means there's more to do and I never reach that feeling. So on occasion, I instead hoard my replies and post them all on the same day at a later point.

So what do you prefer to do?

I was in such a decent writing groove in February, like on my post tracker I actually posted the most out of the new year. But I'm about to leave the state on two separate occasions in April that I'm sad to have that groove go.

Silence is heavy, silence is a monster that has clawed its way into the air, sitting in between them, and waiting for them to say something to shatter it. Silence weighs heavy on his heart as he thinks of something to say that isn't entirely horrible.

Describing silence as a monster is my favorite thing to do.

Bonus! (If anyone knows what this monologue is from, I love you.) Ironically these are from the same character.

"So you know what? I spit on it. Your forgiveness, your compassion. Everything that you've offered to me out of pity.
And do you want to know why I spit on your forgiveness? To reach a hand down to somebody, they need to be beneath you. And I?
"I am beneath no one."

  • Character Growth - Something I like to focus on deeply with a character is how much they might grow as a person. As we all know, people grow and change their ideals over time and maybe, through roleplaying the character and getting more comfortable with them, you set your self into a path that is allowed to be diverged off of. That part is important to me because, even if my character doesn't have trauma I would like to see them work through, its interesting to see a character blossom and grow from what they were in the beginning. This helps me personally determine whether or not I can continue to play a character, especially if I grow bored or begin to lose muse at all. Do they have a future or will they stay stagnant?

  • Switch up your writing style! - Not only does this keep things interesting and fun but it helps you explore different ways to write. Are you normally the type to wait for someone else to move along the plot in a thread? Take charge! Are you the type to describe the background and have your character speak normally? Describe their thoughts instead! Do the opposite of what you normally do, look up new words and experiment.

I'm so tired but I don't want to drop a character that I've been struggling with the muse for. you'd have to pry him out of my cold dead hands. So I think it's better to refresh my memory on the character instead.
