me, dm-ing a cyberpunk red one-shot for one of my close friend groups: (rolls a critical injury on an NPC aiding the party; he now has a dismembered arm)
me, a day later, playing a witcher campaign with my other close friend group: (rolls a nat 1 on my dodge/escape roll, the dm rolls a deadly critical attack; my character now has a dismembered arm)

what goes around comes around i guess?

dm-ed live for the third time in my life and i think im getting the hang of it tbh

its also extremely funny that what me and my rl friends thought would/should be a one-shot ended up with me arresting them halfway through the planned timeline events, which means this one-shot is now gonna be a two-shot

medi fantasy, preferably witcher inspired. im totally biased bc i liked playing my mage lady from a witcher trpg one-shot last night and her backstory is dope.

been working on this in the background and still waiting until i get a better gauge of my availability in the future before i fully push the premise forward, but since i've gotten a fair amnt of reception and interest for this idea already + enough solid foundation to feel like it can be put forward, let's pitch it here:

sci-fi fantasy set in space, taking nods from saga and star wars. the main setting is the confines of a luxury space station traversing the solar system in the first intergalactic voyage known to history, not so dissimilar from the titanic, set only a few years after the closings of an interstellar war. space station is divided into different "quadrants" and is pretty much a mini-city in its own right. characters can come from different planets, with each one having its own political faction, for the sake of making history in the voyage, or just because they want to. players can also register their own races. there are space ghosts. magic too.

vibes are basically saga (the comics), star wars, honkai: star rail, titanic, and black sun (rebecca roanhorse), with some aesthetics that borrow from foundryside and bioshock. magic is inspired from the grishaverse mainly.

in a vc with a friend rn and we're looking through old high school photos from our respective phone galleries. two realizations

1) god do i miss the days where i may as well be a narcoleptic

2) my senior year was basically the equivalent of a shitpost from god on crack bc all these photos are literal shitposts and every memory attributed to them is the kind of thing you'd see from a tumblr text post

I bought all but the first Stormlight Archive book at my local bookstore today. They didn't have it, but the guy said he'd order it for me. I do have The Way of Kings as an audiobook tho, so tis all good in the meantime.

ayyyy enjoy! i've only read way of kings and have words of radiance waiting in my bookshelves, but that series is /stellar/

my dm straight up said "this character deserves all the enemies he's made" after this sentence

He likes to think they've wracked up enough heart points for this dynamic to not be completely shot in the water by a few wrong dialogue choices. No worries.

me and my friends are starting a new season of our cyberpunk red campaign with new characters. decided to make a "side story downtime rp" where we just rp scenes that exist outside our sessions while our campaign is on hiatus due to scheduling problems. i drew the short stick of writing the starter and thus:

"Mr. Saito" (what a dull name) was off duty today, which meant that Cold Case was working today. Which doubly meant that Cold Case was causing trouble today.

...Such trouble, as it so happened, manifests in a young man playing new hire in a bar not far off from a scene of a crime. They don't take kindly to unknown faces—or so, in his experience those that ask too many questions a bit too many times tend to be met with some version of a gun to your head—so, variables. Bar has a sign saying they're looking for new hires. Bar happens to be full of edgerunners. Bar happens to be a few streets away from a second-degree murder. Policemen talk under the right circumstances. Win win!

Ideally.

When you're not being gated out the front by someone who definitely looks more than thrice your size for trespassing the employees only room. But that's irrelevant right now.

the fact ill have to play this gremlin live and he's the party face genuinely scares me
