Okay this is more of a site wide, global plot character request because it has a ton of opportunity going on with it: romantic, familial, political etc. But, atm, it's the romance element that we have the other players already in place for. So, that's the one that's gonna be with immediate effect. This is an ad for a royal canon from our site Aeipathy and it's a role we're super eager to have filled...

PLEASE NOTE: Hatshepsut's story involves sexual partners with large age differences, including when she was 15. Our world is a historical ancient one, which means women were expected and permitted to be married and sexually active at 15. So, this is not bizarre in our IC world but it might not be for everyone, writer-wise...




THE BASICS

THE SITE

Hatshepsut is a key character on our site Aeipathy. The site is a historical fiction drama and is set in the ancient world. Our world expands through Greece, Egypt, Judea and the African deserts. We are primarily a political intrigue and familial plot site with Houses and Dynasties, Barons and Lords. We have characters ranging from Kings to Pirates and all of them get stuck in and involved. In short, we've had our members refer to us as an ancient world Game of Thrones (minus the dragons). So if you like stories where there are tonnes of characters whose storylines are all interwoven and want to join us in writing this story together, we might be the site for you!

We have a kingdom called Egypt and we used Egypt as it's basis and we try and make things as accurate as possible but at the end of the day we are a fictional site Egypt does not have to follow the exact history of the Egyptian kingdoms. Just an eagerness to learn, attention to the lore on our site and a general curiosity/interest in the culture of ancient Egypt is enough!

THE CHARACTER

Hatshepsut has grown up as the only living child of the great Pharaoh Imopehatsuma and his Queen Isetheperu. A female, Hatshepsut became Queen of Egypt at the age of six and has been under the guidance and guardianship of her mother the Queen Mother until she was of age to marry. By this point she had fallen in love with a man who's victories were taken credit for by his superior - such credit allowed the General Iahotep to secure the rights to Hatshepsut's hand in marriage, making him the Morning and the Evening Star: The great Pharaoh of Egypt.

Hatshepsut is currently pregnant with her husband's child but is neither interested nor in love with the man who shows her just as much lack of attention, still very much in amore with the man whom she originally lost her maidenhood to - the Deputy General Osorsen H'Moghadam.

As Queen of Egypt, Hatshepsut has great power, but as the wife of Pharaoh, she has none directly against him. She therefore operates within this strange political void where everyone must obey her commands, but none of the nobility are entirely happy in doing so unless her husband is there to confirm that it doesn't move against his own wishes.

On a personal level, Hatshepsut is a soft and sweet girl who has grown up diligent and a little naive. The marriage to Iahotep was an arrangement she was raised to expect in her life while her love for Osorsen was a surprise. Married life, on the other hand, is something entirely new and she is having to muddle through with her wifely duties as well as her future as a mother.

Whilst Hatshepsut's past is decided (in that she has been in love and physical with Osorsen H'Moghadam) at Aeipathy you can rp any stories from your character's past so her affair and falling in love with the Deputy-General is as open to be written (and encouraged!!) as her present relationship with her Pharaoh husband. So far, none of this story has been written out on our site - it is simply stated in our canon information.

As for this character's future, Hatshepsut could go in multiple directions. Become a tragic heroine for whom live becomes unbearable - married to a man who does not love her nor whom she loves in return. Come to woo and tame the man that is her Pharaoh (beauty and the beast style-y), have her abandon her kingdom and run for the hills (unlikely given the devotion of her personality but traumatic events can send people down unexpected routes) or claim some control and power within the Egyptian Council Senate and become a powerful Queen. The story is up to you on where you take it but it will be a long one, either way.

The following is our Canon Blurb for this character:
Hatshepsut is a young girl in the middle of a political circumstance she has no control of. As the only offspring of the late Pharaoh Imopehatsuma, Hatshepsut inherited the crown of Egypt, as was her birth right, at the age of six. Since then, her mother has ruled over Egypt in her guardianship as Queen Dowager, until she achieved the age of fifteen and was able to marry. By this time, Hatshepsut had fallen helplessly in love - as many girls do in their teenage years, for the very first time - with the honourable and courageous Deputy-General Osorsen of the Hei of Moghadam. Sadly such a union was not to be and after General Iahotep presented his case of military victories to the Council it was decided that he would be fitting as Pharaoh of all Egypt. Whether Hatshepsut had any personal feelings on the matter was never considered. But, as a quiet girl, who loves and trusts her mother, Hatshepsut followed through with the match, performed her duties in a manner that was less than satisfactory for her new husband but enough so for her biology and is now with child. This entire process that has turned her life from that of a child to that of a married mother has happened in the pace of six months and, so far, Hatshepsut has yet to breathe in order to work out her own feelings on this chaotic turn of events that has become her life.

In his grandfather's place, Osorsen the younger - named for the man - operates as head of the Moghadam Hei, attends the Courtly events and sits upon the Council. Facing an Egyptian nobility silently hoping for the competition he presents to dwindle away with him - one of only two still living members of the family since the death of his parents - the Moghadam name is one of great repute and pride and Osorsen is an ambitious man who seeks to make use of that fact at every turn possible. A courageous and respected General in his own right, he is one of the highest ranking military men who also serves as his head of house on the Council in current time. He is also the man to have led most of the campaigns against Greece ten years ago and is now considered enemy number one in the southern Greek isles. A fearsome fighter and a terror on the back of a chariot, some say he's possessed by the spirit of war. Others, if it were known to the public, might have said he fights with the anger of a slighted man. Once (possibly still) in love with the young Queen Hatshepsut, Osorsen, as Deputy General at the time was unable to reach for her hand in marriage when the General Iahotep claimed glory for their shared victories and secured the young girl's hand himself, becoming Pharaoh. It is Osorsen's greatest wish to rise himself and family to a station where nothing can ever be taken from their outstretched hands again.

PLEASE NOTE: Osorsen has plots in his future that include romance which means his connection to Hatshepsut is temporary. Whilst she believes herself to be currently head over heels for him and Osorsen feels the same, his attentions will eventually be turned elsewhere. Osorsen is a romance for Hatshepsut's past and present - not her long term future/final.




THE PHARAOH HUSBAND

A military man who has worked up from nothing more than a wealthy merchant's son, Iahotep is a man of conviction always and a man of conscience only when it suits him. Taking credit for other people's victories and achievements is not a permissible action. Unless the results are worth the deception. With a moral guideline entirely based on whether the ends justify the means, Iahotep has just achieved the dream of every man in Egypt. He is Pharaoh. King of Kings. And married to a young nubile twenty-six years his junior that already grows with his young. The fact that she is a quiet thing with no sense or natural instinct for seduction is only a small irritation that can be borne if it means being king of all Egypt. So long as she performs her duties as his wife and stays quiet in his Council, he cares not for whether she has the seduction or temptations of a table.




THE FUTURE

The future of this character is obviously open to you, the taker. The only plans we currently have in play is the canon information listed above. As stated above, the story of Hatshepsut spans several years and can be played out by you, the taker, any way you want, with additions made left right and centre. Whilst there a skeletal foundation already built for her as one of our canons, how you fill in those walls and build the actual story is entirely up to you. Currently, the storyline is at the point where Hatshepsut is a few months pregnant with Iahotep's child and has been married to him for a little longer than that.



OTHER PLOTTING

The above is simply the plot for Hatshepsut and her romantic history. It's also worth pointing out that Hatshepsut has plenty of other opportunities for stories and sub-plots that are wide open for any takers.

The kingdom of Egypt is about to go to war with Greece. So there is plenty of military and political drama about to unfold - especially as Hatshepsut's love Osorsen is one of the key Generals in the fight.

The Courtier women of the kingdom are slowly being taken/claimed (we only just opened Africa/Egypt so it's not quite as busy as Greece yet) so there will be stories with those women there - friendships and connections etc.

There is also, in canon information, presently a huge scandal in that it turns out Hatshepsut has a brother! As an illegitimate child of the Pharaoh, Sutekh is allowed to call himself Prince, take the name of the family (Naddar) and live in the palace, but he is not able to inherit the crown of Pharaoh. So, Sutekh doesn't pose a political threat or story to Hatshepsut and her husband, but he does offer personal development stories between a brother and a sister who have always known each other (Sutekh was thought to be the son of another noble family) but are now realising that they share a father. This character isn't yet claimed but they hopefully will be in the future!

The Queen Dowager Isetheperu H'Naddar is also still alive and has a strong connection to her daughter, opening up potential plots there. This character isn't yet claimed but they hopefully will be in the future!

-- wants to stick around for the long haul and see the Queen of Egypt come into her own.

-- is comfortable with roleplaying a loveless marriage in which wifely duties will be expected to be performed for her husband.

-- is able to write two characters in one: the Queen and the woman. And be able to make them coexist together.

-- has no issue with large age difference relations.

-- wants to explore - with genuine maturity and character development interest - the many different relationships Hatshepsut currently has - with her mother, her husband, her lover, her brother...

-- likes to get stuck into large and encompassing global plotlines.

Okay this request has a whoooole lot to it but the character's predominant plot (at the moment) is a romantic one so Imma bung it in here. THE CHARACTER

Theodora is the second born daughter of the richest House in her Kingdom. The kingdom of Taengea is rich, fertile and vast and specialises in the growing of grapes for the Greek's much loved wine and the breeding of exquisite horses. There are also large areas of forestry and generally the kingdom is lush and green and vibrant. The family of Leventi, who are a sub-branch of the royal family (ergo, they have royal blood but they are not the currently ruling line) are the height of significance due to their monopoly on the market of horse breeding, training and trading. Their livestock are the best of the best. Kings and Queens ride the horseflesh of the Leventi. The Leventi family is separated into three family units - the wives and children of three Leventi brothers. The Head of the House is the eldest - Fotios of Leventi. Theodora is the daughter of the second eldest Georgios. The daughters of Georgios are praised as being the most beautiful in the kingdom and Theodora especially is thought to be blessed by Aphrodite herself with exquisite beauty. She is a jewel and prize for any man and is highly sought after as a wife. Not only does she come with connections to the most powerful family in the royal circles (aside from the actual ruling line), and the richest family in the kingdom, she is also highly beautiful in her own right. In short, she's the cream of the crop.

As such, Theodora has grown up to be a little sheltered, a little haughty and a little arrogant in her position and place in life. She is not mean spirited and she is not entirely narcissistic. She is certainly not malicious and while she is intelligent she's not cunning or deceptive. Generally a kind person and loving of her sisters (particularly the youngest of the five Imma), Theodora is simply a little narrow minded of the world because of her upbringing and her secure place of wealth and security.

Because of the future plots before her, Theodora has the potential to develop in many different ways and tangents depending on where the writer wishes to take her. She could have her eyes opened to the world and become a more rounded and generous person. She could become involved in the politics and grabbing nature of the Courts and become more selfish or self-promoting. She could become more conflicted and suffer internal angst over right and wrong vs. her own heart's desires. Truly, apart from her initial set up and the plot she currently has on-going this character's personal development and progress is entirely up to the taker.

THE PLOT

Theodora was widely considered, along with her sisters Selene and Olympia, to be one of the most beautiful unmarried women in Taengea - until she was arranged to be wed to Achilleas of Mikaelidas and became officially un-courtable. Since her engagement to the King's cousin, however, interest in her has not been stifled in one individual - her future husband's brother Emilios. Devoted by duty to the older brother but easily seduced by the younger, Theodora is in a precarious situation of the heart...

The above is our starting information for Theodora. Since then we have had a member playing her on our forum who recently left the site. As such, some of this plotline has already been set up.

The story of Theodora spans roughly two years. However, it is worth nothing that we operate a fluid timeline at Aeipathy and the following parts of the story (Theodora's love affair with Emilios and her engagement to Achilleas) have, so far, been written simultaneously on the site, despite being two years apart. As such, while there is a lot of detail in the following, there hasn't actually been a lot of writing behind this and you will be able to fill in all of the different gaps and make all of this story (including what has already happened) uniquely yours.

Here is the structure of the story you would be working with and able to adapt and reimagine in your own way -

-- The Leventi and the Mikaelidas family are connected by the Heads of Houses being the closest of friends. The children of the families are aware of each other but did not grow up especially close.

-- Theodora of Leventi and Achilleas of Mikaelidas met when children. Achilleas developed a protective crush that has, over the years, developed into (what he believes to be) a deep love and affection for a woman of exceptional marriage quality. No-one has been made aware of Achilleas' feelings.

-- Two years ago, Theodora met Emilios of Mikaelidas and the two fell in love. As the second son and not a formal baron or holder of land, Emilios would not have been considered worthy of a woman like Theodora. The two have kept their relationship secret until they knew how to convince their families that they should marry.

-- Three months ago (from current time), Emilios decides to tell his father of his affair with Theodora. He is so in love with her at this point, he is determined to marry her. He tells Theodora that it is his plan to speak with his father as soon as he returns from a military escapade.

-- The day that Emilios is due to return, Theodora's father comes to her to inform her that a union has been proposed between the Leventi and Mikaelidas lines and would she accept the hand of Irakles of Mikaelidas' son. Theodora (assuming this to be the promised proposal of Emilios) instantly accepts with great enthusiasm.

-- What Theodora did not know at the time, was that Emilios had been delayed returning home and it was Achilleas that had put forward his, so far, unknown feelings and requested the union.

-- In a public party, Theodora and Achilleas' union is announced and Theodora realises her mistake. Unfortunately, as it has now been publicly announced, there is no turning back without bringing shame and family feud to both Houses.

-- Emilios returns to find the love of his life already engaged to his brother.

-- Since this point, Achilleas and Theodora and their families have been planning for the wedding, Theodora and Emilios are on bad terms as Emilios drowned his sorrows in other women and wine for a night. And Fotios of Leventi (the Head of Theodora's House) has, for reasons of his own, blackmailed Emilios into maintaining his relationship with Theodora, while ensuring she marry Achilleas.

In short, the entire situation is an angsty mess made tension filled by a looming wedding date.

Because you can rp in both past and present on Aeipathy all of this story is open to additional threads, side plots, detail and extra information here there and everywhere. This is not a set story that you are solely following on from, you can continue to add to what has already been as much as you like.



THE BETROTHED

Achilleas Mikaelidas is the first born son of Irakles of Mikaelidas. He is currently cousin to the King and in line for being Head of the Mikaelidas House when his father eventually passes. His father being a great and powerful General in the kingdom, Achilleas has grown up seeking glory on the battlefield and has become an impressive military Commander in his own right. A powerful and skilled man, he is also a gentleman and is both thoughtful and considerate. A man of great honour and dignity, he is literally the most sought after bachelor in all of Taengea and (possibly) all of Greece.

He has been in love with Theodora for many years but has kept it to himself, as a man of honour and dignity does. He is highly looking forward to wedding the woman he has cared for, for so long and bringing further glory and riches to his family name. He has absolutely no idea that Theodora is a) not a virgin and b) that she's been in a physical and romantic relationship with his brother for two years.

THE LOVER

Emilios of Mikaelidas is more emotional than his stoic, perfect gentleman of a brother. A man who atypifies the romantic heroes of old that pledge to love to their dying breath and seduces with just a touch, murmur or look, Emilios captured the heart of the wild and spirited Theodora and still holds it in the palm of his hand. When he calls, she comes running, for she loves him so. Unlike with other women he has known, however, with Theodora, the feeling is mutual and Emilios yearns for her as much as she him.

Emilios loves and respects his brother and has never had any knowledge that Achilleas was in any way interested in Theodora (else it is unlikely he would have ever become attached). Instead, it is his belief that the marriage between Achilleas and Theodora is one solely of arrangement and holds no great power in the heart of Achilleas. Ergo, whilst he is shamed of his actions for going behind his back, he doesn't feel too guilty, as he mistakenly thinks Achilleas cares not for Theodora personally.

THE FUTURE

The future of this character is obviously open to you, the taker. The only plans we currently have in play is that Theodora must wed Achilleas. Whether she does this because she wants to, in retribution against a "cheating" Emilios, whether she does it for family dignity or whether she starts to develop feelings for Achilleas, this is totally down to the player. The only requirement is that Theodora does, in fact, marry Achilleas and, for a time, continues a relationship with both brothers. This is non-negotiable as it is required for both global plot and that of other players' who already have plans in the making. Beyond this point, however, the story is entirely up to the player.

Does she end up admitting her affair and her and Achilleas end up in a loveless union with Emilios being her true lover?
Does she end up falling for Achilleas and realising that Emilios was a childhood crush?
Does she end up losing both men and her story takes her elsewhere entirely?

Provided the direction this character is taken builds on the stories already in place rather than ignores them, you have an entirely open field in exactly where the character goes from here.

As stated above, the story of Theodora spans several years and can be played out by you, the taker, any way you want, with additions made left right and centre. Whilst there is a lot of information and a lot of skeletal foundation already built for her, how you fill in those walls and build the actual story is entirely up to you. Currently, the storyline is at the point where we are two weeks before Theodora and Achilleas' wedding and Theodora and Emilios are annoyed at one another. From there, it is up to you.

The reason there is so much already laid out for this character is that she was previously written by a member who has now left us. As such, we are looking for a long-term, dedicated writer who loves angsty, nitty-gritty and character developing plot lines. We need someone who isn't intimidated by the fact that someone has written the character before and in return we offer you an open and accepting community who hold no judgements.

You will not be judged based on how this character was written previously. This is YOUR character to do with as you wish.

The ONLY reason that we request the above storyline and elements be maintained is so that the rest of our members' plotting and stories don't have to be scrapped. We genuinely want you to build on the framework we have and keep growing Theodora as a character and into your own role/baby.

You might like Aeipathy of you're open to RL face claims? Ours is a historical drama site with a little fantasy thrown in - we have a mythological element where the Greek/Egyptian Gods are playable characters? That might not be the full fantasy you're looking for but we definitely have the historical element that high fantasy does - we're just sunnier than most other fantasy's because we're set in ancient Mesopotamia!

Our activity levels waver between people posting multiple times a day and multiple times a fortnight/week. If you aren't able to post at least once a week we're probably not the site for you but as there are other sites that require multiple rapidfires every day, in the grand scheme of things we're not very strict so I wasn't sure what you classified as "understanding of activity" and whether this would work for you.

We're a RL forum so no worries on the anime front - We are a historical drama site. Not sure if that's a genre you would normally go for - a lot of your preferred dramas are more realistic, but I can assure you there's no intense research to be had with us. We are set in ancient greece but the kingdoms in which we rp are entirely fictional, so you just have to read the lore on the site and then that's it! Easy peasy...

I'm posting this despite the genre not being one you listed because we are a community of maturer writers who have all been rping for a significant time like yourself. We all prefer quality over quantity and your post size is about what we all manage (yet there is no word count - we don't like the additional pressure or restriction).

We are a proboards but I can assure you that we function more like a jcink. We've been dolled up to the nines in our coding and we have a lot of members who were dedicated jcinkers and were determined not to rp on a proboards site and yet we won them over with our awesomeness so hopefully we'll do the same to you lol.

We also have a lot of members who were out of the rp game for a while before they joined us, so while we're an intermediate to advanced site please don't let that put you off. By the sounds of things, I think you'll fit right in. Our community is super inclusive, LGBT friendly and excited to meet all newcomers! We're also great at maintaining excitement and friendliness with all of our members way after the shinyiness has worn off - we're not one of those excitement then dead sites
