Ok so recently i have been wondering what kind of RP site i wanted to make and lately i've been bouncing around a number of ideas and what not based on some of my favorite fandoms that i'd like to have an RP in. So i made a poll for each of the ideas and below will be a brief discriptions of what i had in mind for each one. For this thread i'd like people to vote for whichever idea resonates with them the most and post something down below to voice opinions or concerns. Hopefully if a single option gets enough votes it will let me focus in and buckle down since i know its what people will actually 'like'. No sense in making a site if its for a super niche audience right? I already have a skin being made so all i really need at this point is a decision on what lore to incorporate.
So without further rambling, here are the ideas.
Zelda With A GoT Twist: So this has been rumbling around my head for a VERY long time, but basically for a Zelda site i had the idea where the setting takes place in a BRAND NEW timeline known as a 'Converged' timeline, basically a line where all three of the diverged timelines all get combined into a single one due to some mystical event. As a result we will be set in a new Hyrule with aspects taken from EVERY timeline and EVERY game. Allowing an vast assortment of playable races both on the humanoid side and monster side and introducing D&D mechanics. I wanted to introduce a couple of things into this site, one of which would be the primary conflict. I don't want Ganon to be the big bad but instead i wanted most of the conflict to spawn from within Hyrule itself between all the races and the Houses of Hyrule city Game of Thrones style. Creating a lot of political intrigue, potential war, and ect. This, on top of the fact that dungeons have begun appearing all over Hyrule (almost like in Magi; Labyrinth of Magic) and from these Dungeons monsters and evil spirits spawn and reek havoc upon each region a tower appears. Making a system where if people make parties and take on these dungeons and actually conquer it they attain both power and riches as well as deactivating the tower for a season which allows the region to be in peace for a short while. So with these dungeons plus the tense relations between the inhabitants of Hyrule and the potential of war backed along with shifty political figures add a lot of conflict and intrigue to the site which will do well for its long term investment.
League of Legends AU With A Focus On Narrative: We all know League of Legends. You know LoL, your family knows LoL, Koreans know LoL. We alllllll know LoL...but how much do we REALLY know? With the loose lore Riot incorporates it makes it kind of hard to really get a good feel for how a LoL themed RP would work. But in my mind i would be going off somewhat on the old lore before the games reboot. With the main conflict being between Demacia & Noxus and their war against one another i wanted to draw a focus onto the development of the Rift Wars to divert away from the actual battles they need to fight. Side nations like Ionia and Bandle City will be allied with either Demacia or Noxus to prevent the site from getting to big and losing all sense of focus since fantasy sites have a problem with scale and ambition which is a detriment to the communities ability to come up with meaningful stories that impact the site. So with a focus on these two sides the rift would be invented as a way to settle disputes between nations where each side selects champions to fight on their behalf, (Think Trial by Combat) and the rift will be a big battle that happens maybe once a season or whenever the two nations are getting pissed at one another. Canon characters will NOT be a thing since canons tend to derail things a bit, but there will be nearly unlimited creative freedom when it comes to characters and what they can do, within reason of course.
A DanMachi RP: Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon? I dunno, probably...but that is not the question we should be asking is it? Granted this site idea is a bit more fresh in my mind and thus less developed but for those of you who know DanMachi you know what its about and how it would work in an RP site. But basically, Familia (gods/goddesses) choose champions and heroes and take them into their 'clan' and give them powers and abilities as they fight through dungeons and gain experience. It is basically a MMO without the 'virtual world' BS.
Original Fantasy Inspired By D&D: This one will probably be the one that takes the longest to pull off since everything would need to be custom made but yeah, an original fantasy designed to be inspired by D&D. Players will be HIGHLY encouraged to either form or join parties that are persistent and go on quest, i don't want to make the world too massive so the world will be condensed to a few cities between two nations which will likely be across an ocean from one another. But smaller cities and such will be scattered across the world and this allows characters to develop their own lore and backstories without losing focus on the sites conflict which will likely be a war between these two nations as well as an evil organization designed to be played by players who can go around causing unrest within the world and acting as the main antagonist to the characters in the site. Think a Litch King or Evil Sorceress, these characters will be the big bads an their henchmen will be going around causing conflict that other characters can interact with.
RWBY Before The Collapse: For those of you who have seen the most recent episodes...yeah. I want a RWBY RP set in Remnant before the gods peaced the hell out and ruined everything because that setting low key looks hella dope. As for the specifics of what the conflict and such would be i'd honestly need a bit more time but if there is interest in this i'll dedicate more thought to it.
