after stepping away from a frenetic, frantic community where posts are expected at the minimum on a daily basis and I can no longer keep up due to the demands that work needs f me?

sometimes you just have to find the right place for you. currently writing elsewhere, where taking your time is very much appreciated, sure there are daily posters, but there are also those who only have the mental spoons to post a few times a week and let the rest of the week stew for how to tackle replies when they come.

maybe you need a consistent 1x1 partner who can write with you to quench the thirst for replying quickly? just my two cents though

Okay so in my case, the funny thing is English was my first language (clarifications below)—though a lot of people expected it to be Tagalog / Filipino (same hat) but I grew up in a family that valued English a lot, so like…

English is my first spoken and written language; while Tagalog / Filipino is my first understood (comprehendable? Is that even a word???) language since even if the people here at home don’t talk in English all the time, I can understand what they mean…

Kind of like how your brain can easily flip between one language and another? (if that even made sense)

(and then it so happened I went to a school that taught in English for most of my life so I had the nastiest shock of my life when I had to learn Filipino / Tagalog in what, grade 3, 4, 5? Around that time just to keep up because we had some classes that were not taught in English so ahaha…)

don’t get me started on ship threads, though, those tend to drive the counter extremely high into a number I’m not going to say anymore lol (which is hilarious considering that my writing partners only post like once or twice a week, however I always pelt back replies as soon as I get them so OOPS)

I’m extremely casual. I just crop.

Though Photopea has been a HUGE help with helping me keep the quality of the images as high as possible while I crop stuff to be 250 by 350… ahahaha…

(I also have a tendency to be extremely picky with choosing the images, so I gotta do it all meself!)
