I was also wondering if there was a jcink version of Pixel Perfect somewhere out there or if we're all gathering here. Also I hope staff is doing well, I haven't seen many of you on recently.
the only ones i can think of on jcink are RL-centric sites. like caution to the wind? i remember at some point there was sonder but... it isn't a thing anymore as far as i am aware.

that's also been my experience, I wish there was more enthusiasm for animanga rp in general

Is there or will there ever be a way for people who aren't the owner of a directory listing, to flag that site as dead and request to have it removed from the directory?

It sucks to click on a directory link that looks exciting and see that the site is either in maintenance mode or deleted entirely. Recent bumps generally help to indicate activity, but sites that go a long time without bumps aren't necessarily dead, it might just mean their staff aren't active on PP.

That's fine, but it's not the thing I wanted to change - it was this unreadable yellow color in the username when I make a recent post.

Can I have the yellow changed to the orange and the profile background changed back to the purple gradient from before? (#5646a6 to #aa6bbf)

I feel like the biggest hurdle to this kind of concept is going to be figuring out what kind of game to base it on. I feel like it's comparatively easier to pitch a hook for other types of entertainment rp, because everyone is familiar with the concepts of music and movies. But there are a lot of different kinds of esports (shooters/mobas/mmos/card games/fighting games to use a few examples) and there isn't necessarily a lot of overlap between the fans of all of them.

If you narrow down your focus to have the site plot be about a single esport (as opposed to esports in general), the easy way to do it is to base it on a real esport. This essentially makes it a fandom rp, but people who don't like or aren't interested in that fandom are less likely to join. The harder way is to make up your own esport, in which case you have to invent enough lore that it gets people interested in writing stories about it, but not so much that it turns people off.

I also much prefer the use of the term "content warning" to "trigger". It's multipurpose in that it can be used for things that can't reasonably be assumed to be trauma based as well (such as "spoiler for X show" or "bright, clashing colors"). I'm still on the lookout for a word meaning "this content won't trigger me but it will make me irrationally angry for a while" (like "squick", except the emotion it's intended to evoke is anger as opposed to disgust).

As for how I actually use them, that's a bit of an interesting case. I tend to put "nothing" when asked. However, if someone else were to write (to use an extreme example) a homophobic serial killer who likes M-rated scenes, I would probably choose to never thread with that character. Not because I have an objection to, or are emotionally upset by, encountering the subject in fiction (I wouldn't have a problem with reading through their profile if asked); but because my characters are my babies and I don't want them to be graphically homophobically serially killed, y'know?
