@iota i'm not going to quote your whole post bc it's long but i agree with about half of this. (this is also not an attack, but an opinion on parts of what you said)
i agree with what you said about treating rp as d&d conceptually, the story building and depth of a d&d group can be found within a small rp community. a private rp community can work the same as a d&d session. you could find writing d&d groups, who are all playing d&d but writing out their scenarios like it's rp.
i disagree with relating the love of rp to activity, although i'm not entirely sure if you meant for it to come off that way. i say this mostly because i love rp, and i love writing, but i am most definitely a slow poster because i am in a situation where i realistically do not have time. i'm a full-time college student working somewhere between part and full time and that really doesn't leave me a lot of room to do anything but sleep and homework. i post less than once a month in my favorite thread on my site, but the passion and love for this plot that i'm telling with my rp partner has not diminished. similarly to your site, though, the site i coadmin reflects this expectation in activity. plots are still moving -- they're just moving slower, and people clearly still have the passion for the stories they want to tell because we've been open for a very long time.
your site caters to people who love to rp, but want to do it at a fast pace. the site i coadmin caters to people who love to rp, but want to do it with the option of a slow pace. there is nothing wrong with either scenario -- we both created communities who love rp but have different wants or needs from activity. this brings me to a point in your post that i'm going to quote because i agree with this statement the most:
for some people, they make time for their hobby once or many times a week and do it diligently. for other people, they find time for their hobby once or twice a month and still enjoy it just the same. in the end it's all about the same thing: finding a community that fits you, loves you, and accepts you. if you can find that then everything else just falls into place.
