im trying to get the tabbed plugin thing to work on my test site and it's not b/c why would pb let me have anything nice.





i have tried rearranging and reinstalling them and nothing seems to work.

what am i missing pls help before i explode

these are all based on my own personal preferences but:

- change the title name to like #eee or another very light gray. i don't think the faded yellow is really adding anything and nothing else in the app uses this color so it looks out of place. if you want to stick with a color, use #D5B034, the same yellow as the crowns.

- also remove the text shadow. similar to the first, the shadow isn't really used anywhere else on the app and so it looks out of place.

- add additional padding to the name.

- make padding even across the entire app. get rid of the blockquotes in the containers. you can use padding to achieve the same affect while maintaining equal padding on all sides. this will improve the look 500% or your money back.

- for where it says personality, history, extra info: add a style tag and include word-spacing: 20px or something similar. you'll need to change 'extra info' to a single word. but it'll add more space between the images and the text and look less claustrophobic.



other MORE personal stuff i would change:

- the border around the content itself i would remove. not the outside one, but the inner that surrounds history and stuff. it's not really adding anything (and the padding on it is uneven) and since your information is already contained in a box, it's easily separated from the rest of the app even without the border.

- add a larger margin to the bottom of the basic info stuff so they're not so clumped together.

- change the grays to be similar in shade together. i would change the 2b2b2b to either 222222 or 242424

- the border-radius isn't affecting the inside content, only the outer edge. you need to increase the number on it to be like 5px or 6px.

- add a bold tag to 'nicknames' and 'gender'.

- you used autopx which might be a typo? you just need auto.

I hope you don't mind me replying but I've felt this before too. multiple times. to the point where I considered giving up rping all together. I felt bad about getting really excited, it fizzling out, then feel worse for leaving my rp partners hanging.

so I end up taking month long hiatuses to recharge my muse. and the longer I sit out, the worse I felt when I try to jump back in. because what do you do when it's been a month? two months? at that point, I felt like I would be intruding/unwelcomed? will they even be ok with me suddenly showing up again? I get nervous and guilty just thinking about it

sorry for rambling! especially when I didn't add anything to help. orz
but I think this problem is common for peeps? so I feel less bad about it knowing that. 

p.s. I hope to get the chance to write with you again one day cause I think you're cool and I genuinely liked Lysandra as a character and seeing you do so much with her without dialogue. /fangirling over


i totally get what ur saying and how it feels like there's no right solution!! it's always nice to know that other people have felt these things too tho just cause it's nice to not feel alone

and omg ajskdh thank u sob that means a lot to hear because i always worried that aspect of her ws actually annoying to rp with so??? thANK YOU!! i hope we get a chance to write again too!! your characters felt so dynamic and fun and i regret not writing more ajksdh

i can like barely maintain interest in anything lately. i get briefly excited over something and then two seconds later just wonder what the point is and let me tell u it sucks

i hope it's just like a dry spell but right now writing is more tedious than ever and it's not b/c i don't want to but because i just feel totally numb towards it.

how do u coders come up with ideas? do you look at anything in particular? i have a pinterest board i use and i browse tumblr themes a lot, but i always worry about copying an idea a little too much.

tbh i don't really care if a site requires me to use their templates so long as their templates fall within my personal preferences? so it means a text area that is larger than 200 x 200 and doesn't have size .5 font or obnoxious, glaring colors.

i do like the fact that these templates prevent people from using ones that clash super heavily with a skin or are otherwise unreadable. but i also agree w/ where i do like coding my own stuff, too.

my personal preference is a site that offers their own codes but will let you use third party ones, too. that way if i want to match, i can. also i hate coding plotters but i feel the need to make a new plotter for every new site.

i think you guys are going past the point of what jo was asking about and getting into stuff that is more complicated than she's looking for at the moment.



just to be sure, do you mean a structure like this? where each forum itself is a separate and unique size? if so, leap's example is really good! you basically code it like you would any template, using the class + forum id combo to separate them. the tricky part will just be managing all the sizes together.

unless you mean like this? i don't THINK this is what you meant but i just want 2 double check.
