there is one character in fire emblem whose name was never properly translated, and because she's shown up in a game, she has to keep her badly translated name forever.

I love Niime, but proper translation of her name would put her as Niamh or Nimue.

feeling the urge to make a site where there are listed "roles and hooks" for characters that can be made, a set amount of time to play them, and no one can play more than one character.

and the site story resets every so often, usually when the story has hit a natural sort of conclusion.

smth like a D&D campaign but not necessarily with a system, and with predetermined ideas for what a character needs to be to fit into the story. for instance, if we're doing a pirate scenario, you do have to RP a character that is on the pirate ship.

but idk if i even have the time or energy to do it.

sometimes it's not that someone doesn't like u and the site is cliquey, it's that they just have a million billion threads with a bunch of people and can't always keep up with more.

this is part of why i'm starting to limit how many threads i have with one person rn until we finish the threads we're currently in. i love writing with many people on this site, but i wanna 1) finish our threads and 2) have at least some energy for new members, considering i play a pretty important role in two groups on this site.

Honestly, if I ever host another public OC site, the rules are gonna be simple: "If you want exclusive use of your character's graphical appearance, you can commission an artist for a design that you own." Wolf RP has broken my tolerance for FC drama. Know what I haven't had to deal with in my entire year of Wolf RP? Anyone complaining that someone's "sitting" on a face claim, because we all use designs we either bought, adopted, or made ourselves. People talking about how "the FC doesn't fit the character," or "I need this FC to not be taken by a new member because it's for my want ad."

It's really nice, actually, and therefore I'm never running a site with exclusive FCs again. If you don't own the rights to the characters depicted in ur graphics, u don't get to say who can and can't use the images.

i used to find it a red flag when someone couldn't find a single site they liked and then i started getting old and my patience for FC drama and long apps and post templates ran out. on top of that, i stopped joining new sites.

like that's all so much work and nonsense for a site that is probably gonna last a month, right? so i just... don't join a lot of sites anymore. i still have sites i like, ofc, and a few of them aren't even mine, but man. realizing the things that are commonplace in site culture are things i just do not like has changed my perception a lot.

Basically, the older I get, the more I realize WoW RP ruined everything I knew about forum culture.

It's ok to spend only 5-10 minutes on a post. It's ok if it's short. "Effort" is subjective and sometimes it's more fun to move the thread along than post a big-ass 500 word monster.

(not that my 500 word monsters take me that long, but that's because I only post them when I'm inspired now.)

unfortunately i am stuck in ARR forever because at the end of the day Warcraft is just a better gameplay experience for me. otherwise i'd probably play Yda for u in this convoluted story thing.

but i actually know what it feels like to wanna tell stories and not being able to because no one wants to write them or your fandoms are too obscure or just not popular enough in the panfan space.

figured i'd ask about two things:

baby pokemon and paradox pokemon - how do they work? would a pikachu be able to start as pichu? would paradox pokemon even be around?

also i think if your max character slots are 6, 2 slots to start for free is probably fair.
