discord is like.....80% of the community activity and a majority of plotting opportunities - i've seen people post screenshots of their discord chats here from their sites. imagine being a member of that site, who feels uncomfortable in the chat for whatever reason, seeing that is disheartening. it feels like you aren't a part of it anymore and missing out. to other members it might even feel like you aren't there most of the time, so it's not as simple as that.

thats not to say sites shouldn't have them, it's all personal choice and experience. discords are the heart of a community in rps that have them - to most people, they make everything so much easier. you lose so much by not being a part of them - by all means have them, it's a great tool for communication, but also not very transparent.

member directories are amazing - but in my experience, the member i was avoiding wasn't on the directory. they had no character or anything. so idk maybe if a user is on the discord server for like, a few weeks w/o site activity, maybe kick them? seems rude tho.

with the discussion of cboxes and discords about i am reminded yet again that im terrified of joining servers, and have not joined sites because i'm nervous about declaring my entry to a whole group of people that might contain someone i'd rather avoid.

had that happen before and i had a full blown panic attack about - they weren't active on the site so now i'm scared of it happening again 🤣🤣🤣

from one - kind of - former asshole to another, the best piece of advice i learned was that at some point you have to forgive yourself. like, if you pissed someone off or hurt someone they get to be mad, but if we - the person who did the thing - make our apologies if we can, learn from it and strive every day to be better, and they're still mad about something or upset however long later, you just gotta say 'thats on you now buddy' and get on.

just as people have a right to be mad or upset, we also have a right to not put that on ourselves. because dwelling on blame and guilt stifles growth. at some point, we can stop caring that they're mad.

MISC: Fanmixes are cool but I’m not deep into any pre-existing character that way, if someone is confident enough to tackle fanmixing for OCs tho I’m always excited to discover new music for either 1)a broken and depressed revolutionary war vet who hates who she became and never got over her chronic miscarriages/stillbirths and unfulfilled desire to nurture or 2)a teenage runaway who gets snapped up by traffickers and ends up a drug dealer and who, surprise, also hates himself and how his life turned out.

PLEASE AVOID: I’m not huge on other people writing my characters, only because I have very specific visions for them in mind and they often have various ticks and habits and unique thought processes that don’t always translate without the kind of in-depth understanding that comes from Far Too Much Free Time.

THINGS I CAN MAKE: I can code, I do everything from miscellaneous codes to multiplotters to thread trackers and mood boards. I’m not super complex, I do basic hovers and transitions but I’ve no eye for tabs or animations.

I can also make Pinterest mood boards for OCs and existing characters, here’s what I’ve done for Lior and Lancer!Isaiah my Lancer campaign (From Here to Auriga) and Mhyrri, a character from a closed site. I write semi-professionally, and am willing to do a series of short poems or a piece of prose in varying in lengths, it will depend on how my muse is for a particular scene. I veer towards sombre and atmospheric, I’ve always been fascinated with the aftermath of things. Here’s an example on Pixel Perfect of how I tend to write.

Unless you trust my music taste I'd rather not do Fanmixes, but I have an eclectic taste. Personally I listen to heavier stuff right now, but I'm also deep into things like Son Lux, Dua Lipa, Sia, various music scores. Point me in a direction and I'd do my best!
