Personally, I treat combat more as a narrative device to employ, rather than an activity unto itself separate from "regular" roleplaying.

Some day I will actually find a place where I feel comfortable to pitch my Living-Since-Time-Immemorial powerful being that fought for supremacy, got utterly bored of winning fights, then retired and now hands out portions of their power like it's candy, because it's amusing to see what mortals do given just a drip of pure power.

But that's such a high concept, it's probably more like the plot of a site than a single character.

when i find folks who are more interested in a collaborative story than in "winning," it doesn't matter how op their character is. the scene is going to be a good time for all involved.

This is why when I ever write a "fight" scene, I ask my partner in advance what outcome they'd prefer. I'm not trying to live out some battle manga where you outmanoeuvre your opponent with your hazy grasp on linguistics, I just want to write together with you.

Lifehack to generate more hours in a day:

Prohibit yourself from accessing social media* except for five minutes every four hours.

10/10 would recommend, I'm getting stuff done

* Yes, that includes Discord

How does one go about getting a diagnoses for... Something? I feel people misunderstand me a lot and it has really affected a lot of things in my life and it feels terrible to have no one to turn to because of it. Is something wrong with my brain? Why can't I be a normal person.

Kinda depends on your nation of residence, but usually you go to the general practitioner or whatever is your equivalent of a first line of medical assistance, and you describe your mental issues and whether it's possible you may be neurodivergent. From there, the roadmap will probably be explained to you.

In my case, I went to the GP, explained my suspicions and that I had been sorta-diagnosed in my youth (but psychologists aren't qualified, psychiatrists are). Then I had to visit a psychiatrist who did a medical anamnesis, whereupon the diagnosis was acquired.

Do note that being frequently misunderstood or having a communication disorder doesn't necessarily mean you're abnormal.

Look, hear me out. You know how there's people who take money and give you a skin in return? What if I give you my rough-around-the-edges post and some money, and you give me a sparkling jewel others in the thread will be blinded by?

Yes to Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, but no to slice of life.

Setting culture from the top is a tale as old as time. Goes for the workplace, MMORPG guilds, Discords, roleplay sites... People look to who's in charge and take it as a standard for behaviour. If you're a memelord always joking around, you'll see people feel more comfortable to post memes in Discord continuously. But if you're real serious and strictly business, people'll be more reluctant to share memes.

That's probably the hardest part of running a roleplay site too. Just writing systems and setting up boards is easy. A skin...depends on how much work you want to make it. But setting culture, sheesh...

ive seen many sites die just because the admins open a site and don't engage with their members!

I think people sometimes undervalue the worth of an admin and staffmembers roleplaying on the site itself too. Seen it too often that they're "too busy running the site" to actually participate, and often that lack of passion drips down to the memberbase.

To be fair, if it's 18+ and all about getting down to the dishy dirty, the size and girth of a character's dick becomes super relevant information.

The mountains on their chest could reach Jupiter’s rings and their fair, green skin was as immaculate as cultivated mold used to produce penincilin. A glance at their behind could fill empty bellies with how packed their bakery is.

Every time I see 's avatar, I keep thinking of A Second Goodbye To You.

Same tbh. I love doing outlandish stuff like having a darker skin without having to resort to the same small pool of animanga characters that don't always hit the mood you're trying to set. Would gladly join the "no FC, just description" bandwagon if it ever takes off.
What you're describing sounds like the style used in old-school, text-based roleplay (ie, MUD/MUSH/MUCK/MOO stuff).

It's definitely fun getting to describe your character exactly how you want to.

It's also... an experience... reading certain character descriptions. You read some wild stuff in the 18+ communities.

...who am I kidding, I love giving characters traits that are typically not found in vanilla cc.

One RP habit I hate having is the whole “I will do x today.” Then not doing it. Even when it is justified, like me not feeling well or being unable to on account of muse. I just sit there and pout at myself a little. ^^’
Just remind yourself: if your RP partners apologised for not posting because of illness or whatever, you'd forgive them.

Extend that kindness to yourself.

if we go to jcink i cant change my name every two weeks anymore
Isn't that a setting Jcink admins can set?

I still wish Jcink had a better "Participated" and "Recent Threads" page, so I could actually keep track of my current threads and take a gander at other threads more easily without having to mess with filters. Also a WYSIWYG editor, please...
