There's hope beyond this lone abyss.
I feel this way looking at some of my art. It's hard to look at some of my old art but some pieces in particular make me go..YEAH how did I do that? It can sometimes be frustrating to feel like I'm somehow getting worse than my older self but at the same time, it's motivating. I think of it like this: even if I don't feel good about what I'm creating now, maybe a future me will look back and admire it for what it is, so I have no reason to stop doing something I ultimately love.

I think I could go on for a while in this thread mainly due to how awful my memory is. Someone can compliment me on writing in a post and I've forgotten it entirely, even if I recently worked on it. It's an ordeal but at least with RP, I can just read everything all over again and I am luckily a fast reader...if I can wrangle my brain into doing it.

For general avatars and such, I lean towards woodblock-like illustrations and, as you can see here right now, mangacaps. On the other hand, I will sometimes use my own art, which can be very similar to what I first mentioned but I also use some of my painted works. Now, to get into what my art looks like would be a whole different can of artistic worms, so I won't go into detail here. And then there's the classic animal pictures, especially of cats or of cute little rats.

For character images, I lean towards long-haired characters of any gender who are sometimes sturdy in appearance, and I love..I mean I love giving characters pointed ears, be them elf-like ears, more realistic pointed ears, or animal ears. I also like giving characters detailed horns, despite how painful they can be to consistently get right. Armour and fancy robes. I like giving characters visible face scars and such as well, partly because I also have some facial scarring but also because they always tell a bit of a story on their own. There was a period of time where I kept making characters with eye-patches as well.

I have an overall fondness for limited colour palettes that make certain features pop (eyes as an easy example here). I like both neutral colours and vibrant colours, though regardless I tend to go towards more sombre and tense expressions for any faces.

Hey, I’m Wraith. I have a loooooong history with forum RP and have been through quite a bit of aliases. I’m eternally exhausted and eternally passionate about writing of all kinds. I also draw, code, and dabble in game development. I play lots and lots and lots of video games...or I would like to say that if I had more free time. I used to start all kinds of sites back in the day and I was staff on a few, though they are long since inactive by now.

Here I am, trying to dip back into RP but also forums in general as I dearly missed them. It's nice to meet you all.
