i've been having some pretty dark thoughts.
I'm so hecking predictable. I wrote this whole post centered on [RP thing I'm embarrassed about] and [how embarrassed I am], thought I posted it two days ago, was overcome sporadically by regret over having opened up even remotely on P2 dot boards dot net, only to open up my computer for the first time since and realize that I never even posted it, it was just sitting in the text editor, completely finished, because I was too embarrassed to commit even then.

Life is just one uphill battle against my internalized shame, and brother, I am losing every day.

I know a lot of people say this but animanga isn't the only group that uses this resource forum. A lot of proboards mainly centered content still uses P2. A lot of sites even on PB still link to and use it. I understand that people get frustrated (Honestly I get frustrated myself of hearing it or seeing it since well, I have offered time and time again to skin, admin, etc a site and that always gets dropped no matter how much people decry this platform- which btw thank you for the offer, I have tested around with your code and it was very well done and I would use it should anyone take me up on this offer to skin something better) but this is a tried and true issue that the site has always run into.

I get that people certainly have their like of both or one of the platforms. I get that some people vehemently hate PB - but I am seeking to consolidate and bring new life to each platform and bolster the community and am not here to hate on one or the other. If people would like to work with me, reach out to me! I promise despite the 800 people who think I have teeth for eyeballs, I assure you, I am more afraid of you than you are of me.

To kind of tack onto this I'm so sorry, Neko, if this isn't related enough to warrant the quote, I'm absolutely for a Jcink community hub so long as its existence doesn't immediately undermine P2's as one of, if not the only active Proboards community hub. I'd be happy to help with setup + skinning for a Jcink resource, but I guess with the asterisk that there's some form of partnership or something with P2 that allows for them both to exist simultaneously without one immediately overshadowing the other?

(I mean, inevitably, people are gonna be drawn to the pretty-shiny of a new site, so some overshadowing is inevitable, but -) If the creation of something like that could be more of a 🤝 between hosts rather than "reblog to kill Proboards faster", that'd. That'd be the ideal. *sweats*

Remembered the joys of playing Project Diva custom maps, forgot the nightmare of actually mapping them out. 💀 Still, I've been daydreaming about mapping this one specific song for long enough better part of a decade at least that it's about time I suck it up and get it heckin' DONE.

... along with several other non-request batches have been added to the directory. Sorry for the long period between updates - the project is definitely not dropped, just... slow. More albums, both request and otherwise, will be added to the directory as they are made, so keep eyes peeled for more updates![break][break]

The Lumine batch took over a year, but they're finally done - so, so sorry on the wait on that, Feral. Melon made a batch of Himeko icons on her own initiative, but that conveniently happened to fill a later request by Frosty. Since all pending requests at this point were given in groups, I'll be going in first-come-first-serve order; but only completing one character request before moving onto the next requester in the batch, before looping back around. For example:

Requester #1, Character A -> Requester #2, Character A -> Requester #3, Character A -> Requester #1, Character B -> Requester #2, Character B [...]


New requests are welcome, and you may request more than a single character at a time - we just won't be adding them to the directory at the same time, is all, and it might be a while before they get to you. Way more than the result would tell you. I'm exceptionally finicky with graphics and art... and writing... and coding... hhh..., so I'll sit there for half an hour trying to decide between 30 or 35 opacity on something - and then just give up at the end because I can't get everything to look perfect -

I'm so in love with the way the exposure tool on the original Pixlr worked that I use a Flash emulator to boot up the old defunct version. Unfortunately, resizing in Pixlr is terrible and incredibly pixelated - so even a simple resize ends up being a game of finding the correct amount with which to blur the image at it's full size, then the right amount to sharpen it at it's small size to get it looking right and then duplicating the layer and sharpening and erasing and fiddling with opacity and sharpening again until everything looks uniform... HHH.......... Sometimes I just use a different program, Krita, to do the bulk of the work, then do color adjustments in Pixlr, but it's pretty annoying having to keep two programs up for long periods of time.

My recolors are nowhere near as nice as Cae's, but I am... technically... capable of shifting eye colors, or redrawing small portions of pieces to, say, give a character pointed ears where they did not before. The key is to always do it before the resize so the details are harder to see in the li'l icon, sdkfljdhskfjdshfkjsdh.

Skin art credits are located in the navigation modal pop-out! Also, fixed up the defunct profile field Image Credits, which should now properly display credits in your user profile (links can be added using the usual [ a href = "" ], as in posts). If you'd like to put credits in signatures so it's visible from the posting area, that's also cool, too - just letting people know there's a dedicated spot for it (as there always was supposed to be, and someone *cough* Leap *cough* just kept forgetting to fix -)

i've been having some pretty dark thoughts.
I keep trying to make full screen responsive designs, on top of playing with how to organize a forum layout in a way that's out of the ordinary... and then I keep Pikachu Face-ing when the result is weird and probably even more sub-optimal than whatever animanga's got going on already.

But eventually, one of these attempts is going to stick, right? Right? ... Please? ;u;
