As someone who has had similar happen (loss of sight/hearing/sensation of touch, but not fully unconscious) on numerous occasions, it's understandably very spooky, but genuinely the thing that helps me the most is laying down, slowly drinking water, and not doing much else until sensation mostly returns. This is to say - if you're scared about something medical, it's always good to get help, but don't beat yourself up too much in this case because your backup plan is what someone else in your shoes would do/has done. ;u;b

A funny li'l story, on the topic of WLW in RP - my wider OC roster is varied enough, but it does lean more feminine, and these days almost all my ships are same-gender. But despite that, when it comes to me and my girlfriend (who loves shipping as much as I do, and very nearly exclusively plays homosexual woman), the majority of the (non-tabletop) ships we end up with are straight. Two notorious lesbian writers, who are themselves sapphic, and you put us in a room, and we write the only straight ships either of us have done in three years together. Tell me what is wrong with this picture.

Love trying to sound smart and pretty while writing as a character who's an idiot that thinks he's a hecking genius, because we are the same. We are the idiot. 🤝

a) Discord is not required, in that all announcements/mod requests/etc. will be available through both the forum and the Discord, but there is currently no chat box on the forum itself. If this is a make-or-break for you or anyone else, though, one could definitely be added on request. Just lemme know and give me a little time to make it happen. o>

b) Nope, characters are allowed to come from any 'universe' or any point in time from said 'universe'. The only exclusion is canon worlds - so while you could play a magical girl, you wouldn't be able to be specifically a Sailor Scout/have made a contract with Kyubey/etc. So you could be from bog standard Earth; a high fantasy setting; or super sci-fi. In Solaris, with people's altered memories, everyone is used to a modern-styled lifestyle, and it's pretty casual that there's more than just humans running around. That's just afterlife as it's always been, y'know?

c) This goes hand-in-hand with the above, but - as long as you're not playing, like... a real life historical figure - you're welcome to pull people from past, present, or future. They can suffer time jumps and culture shock if and when their past memories start coming back to 'em. ;o

The general idea for characters is to allow a large degree of freedom when it comes to what sort of ideas you'd like to try out. If you have a concept that you're not sure will work, it probably won't be an issue - and your always welcome to run anything by Lua or I if you're unsure!

The struggle of having to choose between the wants of the community and the wants of the self as a person running the site. 😔 I know what I ought to do, but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel bad - or that it even being an internal debate doesn't make me feel like a horrible person, dsfkjldhfkjdhfjkdsh.
