title, mostly.

answers to this i expect to be rather subjective!! but for more of an expansion on the question:

when making a character, what qualities do you look to add or avoid? what do you keep an eye out in others' characters or run from when you see?

are there any parts of a profile that you feel are more important than others? for example, should a backstory be kept long or short? detailed or simplified?

things like that. just a few example questions to pick brains!! 👏

i just think rp gets stale and oocly dramatic and bad when people stop being able to separate the player from the muse and idk what the solution to this is. i just want to go back to writing absolute monsters without fear of judgement again

same...

i really used to try to push the envelope but it's why i retired for the most part or only do private rp with groups i trust. just have too much muse to write terrible people / scenarios after all the crime media i consume and the psych exploration i want to do.

but rly the heavy judgement / drama received is too much to take for a hobby imo.

the solutions i've really come up with is to either just write it solo or in private. alternatively, make your own site / space but that's a lot of responsibility. :joy:

i've come to think that being a hard / dark topic or no limits writer is really tough.

for example, what some people say they're okay with content-wise does not equate what they are actually okay with. you can be respectful and warn / tag wherever possible but for some it isn't enough. even just writing said topics with other consenting folks in your own bubble is a risk. all of which are all just general observations on a multitude of experiences throughout my entire rp career.

it'd be nice if there was more acceptance or tolerance esp. for those of us who try to tread gently and be respectful. a wishful thought but i wish nonetheless. :sob:
