I like big fonts and I cannot lie
XD is fine when someone else says a joke that you think is funny.

When you say a joke followed by XD, it is like laughing at your own joke. Things like /s or /j are better ways to indicate you are intending it to be read with humor.

I refuse to use tone tags. I'm a mysterious individual and you can figure out if I'm laughing or not. I do however use lol when I'm trying to make a joking comment to people who have specifically misunderstood jokes before. Genuinely emojis are fine as well as XD but using tone indicators doesn't feel natural to me at all. If other people like it no shade on them but I'm never going to use it.

They're tone indicators. /j is joking and /s is sarcasm. As the name implies, they let you know the tone of the text being said to avoid misunderunstanding. Really the way to go about it xD

the "XD" ppl are usually weird asf
the "xD" ppl are usually using that to lowkey shade you

u can tell the difference based on context and current topic of discussion and sentence phrasing but thas just my opinion u not bout to shade me bitch

i refuse to be shaded by someone who can't even order pizza otp w/o having a panic attack respectfully

i've been having some pretty dark thoughts.
I used 'XD' a lot when I got into online communities, and - for better or worse - I am 90% the same person I was back then, and very resistant to change. Take the 'XD' from my cold, dead hands. If no one else will laugh at my terrible jokes on the internet, I will shoulder the burden myself -

Ya know, I used to use XD a lot until someone made negative comments about it being annoying years ago. I shouldnโ€™t have let myself be influenced by snobby opinions or regurgitate those ideas. Let your XD flags fly!
