I've had a forum just about ready to go for... At least three years now. Life has settled. I'm no longer in school, and I feel my writing needs to come back. I haven't been a staff member of a site in years either, so I'm really only looking to open this site if it seems there's interest in it!

The basic premise is that there are "Grand Crystals" that keep a dangerous mist called Miasma at bay, but the crystals powers are fading. So it's up to adventures to find a new one! But then that adds in battles of territories between the three nations and the tensions between them are high.

I plan to have site-wide boss battles between beloved Final Fantasy eidolons/summons/etc so that is something I'm looking forward to. <3 As well as a quest system to bring in extra character goodies.

I borrowed elements from FFXIV (like classes and leveling up, plus some area names, and Grand Companies and Free Companies) as well as the basic premise from Final Fantasy: Explorers. A lot of it is my own stuff, too.

I've been itching to find a new site, so I figured why not have it be something I've always wanted to open. I worked dang hard on it when I had the time and no doubt are things in need of a bit of a rework (like a new skin and such) but if it's a generally accepted site idea, I may very well open it!

what do you want to know? my height, hobbies, quirks, the color of my underwear?
my question is kind of. well i guess multiple questions.

1) what would the activity requirements look like?

2) what's the system for faces looking like? no faces, optional faces? animanga style only? original art or character creator allowed?
2b) also how possible would it be for... i guess more or less viera or aegyl from ffxii to be an option?

3) what forum host are you going to be looking at using, if you have one in mind?

4) can i get some kind of idea for how some of the combat systems are gonna be or is that still rough?

..... not gonna lie, i'm super interested in this, i just. wanna get a feel for whether it's gonna hit any deal breakers right out the gate oops-

  1. Activity would be pretty lax! I tend to not pressure people to post, since I myself do not like when others pressure me. I'd expect people to post at least once a week? Once every two weeks? If they hold a character with a certain position of power, though, I'd like to see more activity but I do understand real life comes first. However, in the case of event threads, I will enforce a bit of a posting time limit that way the thread does not go stale and the site plot comes to a halt.
  2. Aaaahhh, face claims... So since coming back into the RP world, I have considered maybe getting rid of FC's all together... or at least letting them be very open. I would prefer people use animanga-styled artwork, but fantasy artwork is fine, as well as screenshots of characters from the actual XIV. Since that game is beautiful and it is very easy to make good screenshots, I wouldn't mind that! Commissions of characters and original art could also be allowed, but with original art, I do like to know that the artist is okay with people using/editing their works (like scaling down for icons, etc). This also plays into your 2b question. The way it is set up now is that any Final Fantasy race imaginable will be available to play, so long as it is not an Aeon/Summon/Eidolon/God/All-powerful race/etc. So since some of the races would be harder to find FC's for, I think I'll be a bit lax when it comes to FC's and artwork.
  3. The site is currently on Proboards, but only because that is what I am comfortable with... But I would 100000% go jcink if I could figure the darn thing out. Like seriously. Every time I try to even add a premade skin, it never turns out right! I don't know what I'm doing wrong lol. So if someone else wants to be in charge of skinning for a jcink host, then please, feel free. Otherwise, it will be on Proboards.
  4. I tried to keep the combat system as light yet fun as I could... There are "levels" but they are in the form of ranks, and you rank up by purchasing a "voucher" for the next tier of rank. The ranks are: D < C < B < A < S. There are three things you can rank up, Weapons (for strength), Armor (for defense) and Accessories (which can have fun little enchantments to them. They will mostly be rewards and such.) You cannot have a Rank C weapon without first being Rank C.

    Actually... Before I explain more, I'll just link you to the [redacted]. I basically came up with this by myself, so if there are holes or something is confusing... That's why. xD This is all subject to change, as I think about it. I'm an old woman now and I kind of don't want to deal with all the intricacies of a system?? Though I do understand that sometimes it adds a bit of... something to strive for. Though on the other hand, not all characters should start out as Rank D (like if someone is a Captain or something idk.)

    So uh, yeah... I am up to tweaking and fixing, if anyone wants to help bounce more ideas off of me. :3

yep, that was why i wanted to ask. unfortunately, the expected activity standard is going to be far too strict for my tastes, so even if it did end up on jcink, i would be unable to regularly meet the activity requirements, so sadly, i'm gonna have to ollie out of this one. (i just. wanted to be up front about that so you didn't go expecting me to show up anywhere when i'm not actually interested in joining. since it drives me bonkers when people do that in interest checks tbeh.)

best of luck to your site and development, and i'm more than happy to soundboard things or answer questions about jcink (i've learned my way around, having been there for three plus years now). i just. y'know. will be appreciating from afar rather than a part of it.

No eidolons or summons. I also don't think Rhyme would work. But I can think more about it. For the time being, this is being put on hold because I'm helping someone out with their site so I am going to focus on theirs! If I feel I can handle two at once, then I will work on this project again!

And as I've mentioned before, it's like 99% done, I just need staff and quest ideas. So yeah.
