I try to tell myself everyone is hard on themselves, everyone is their own worst critics. But I realize it's actually genuinely hard for me to take a compliment on my writing. It makes me uncomfortable because of how poorly I think of myself. It freaking sucks coming to that realization. I wish I could just snap my fingers and erase all of my self doubt so I can appreciate the love and support others give me.

What's your favorite and least favorite thing as a staff member?

My favorite is creating a place where others can feel safe, welcomed and let their creativity run wild. In short, I like knowing I've made a place that others consider home, even if it's not forever, good roleplay memories can be really powerful.

My least favorite thing, is when people leave. It's such a sad feeling. Nothing against people who leave or the reasons why, it just sucks getting to know someone, reading their characters, and then losing the continuation of that.

I'd have to see a post to fully judge. I doubt it's too bad. xD I tend to really talk a lot about what my characters are doing because I guess I always fantasize coming back and drawing the scene and in order to do that I need to know specifics. I try not to repeat in my posts though because it becomes really noticeable when I read it out loud, so maybe focus on not clustering your gazes too close together? ? ? Again, going blind at this. xP I'll try to put together a pile of different ways to say looking somewhere maybe give some ideas on other ways you can write it so you won't feel frustrated with it?

Her eyes looked this way.
Her gaze moved towards.
The sight of the door opening drew her attention.
The hues of her eyes settled onto this object.

Rant Thought. Something I hate about proboards, is if you write something on another document, word, notepad, whatever, copy and then paste it in the 'preview tab' or even IN a PM message area thing. It'll DOUBLE space everything. Why, why does it do this. AHHH. xD Drives me crazy.

Proboards is used by a lot of people for more than just rp sites. Jcink is overall the smaller operation. It was just a guy and his wife last time I checked, maybe an extra hand or two. Icyboards was my favorite platform and it went poof overnight because it relied so much on one person. I’m not saying the same will happen to jcink but they rely very heavily on John.

I actually recently learned that the whole of proboards is built by just 8-9 people in total. Found that out during the harder times of covid that they asked for donations. I thought jcink had a lot of people working under it. It's crazy to know that apparently it's just one guy. It might have changed now, but I'll have to look into it. Lots of respect for both sides since creating something alone or with a small group and maintaining it sounds extremely hard.

I wish you the best of luck with improving your writing! Don't stress though because we always seem to be our own worst critics! I don't have any books because I actually...weirdly enough don't like reading. xD;;;; Which is kind of backwards since I love reading people's roleplays and characters. But just not books?!


But I did want to help if I can! I use a plugin called Ginger, it's uses are kind of limited, but it does offer a neat ability where it reads a line and gives you a multitude of ways to write it differently! I'll show you a screenshot of what I mean.




Other tricks I use are never using the same word over so: Osheen felt really annoyed that she felt so frustrated and felt lost.

I'd search up felt synonyms to try and figure out another word to use. Or just structure the sentence differently! What else...oh I read my posts out loud too, that can help you pick up on oddities sometimes. That's the best advice I have!
