rough idea: basically, its a galactic space exploration/political rp

earth has fallen to ecological collapse by their own hand, and are forced to leave earth and venture through the stars. However, decades after leaving the solar system, they find that they are not alone in the universe...

there'd be few alien race starting off. the main idea though is that: the more you explore, the more shit you unlock. however, players can also play hostile (or not hostile?) alien races to hinder that exploration- or perhaps help it!

I've been sitting on this for awhile and, and words are not working after 4 cups of coffee bare with me babes.

As of recent, I've wanted to expand on event concepts for the site I'm currently an Event Moderator on. Normally there are two different types of events on the site: run of the mill combat events, and OOC events like Bingo and Sheet Swaps. The site is pretty old, and historically they've done more combat-esc events. But despite my years of experience I do wanna try and dip some toes into some new event ideas that could freshen the player experience.

Are there any good ways to actually do this? Any strategies or approaches one could take to make it easier? Any good ideas for like- good concepts that can make digestible events without disrupting the site's normal rhythm of operations?

when doing solo admin work and like- looking at my own apps, I usually have a few rules that I (selfishly) try not to waver from

1. Grading your stuff is inevitable. However, if you look at your app and think "is this something I would approve for someone else", you're fine.
2. If folks seem to have a problem with it, explain your reasoning take the criticism with a grain of salt. Sometimes folks just wanna help out which is fine, but have confidence in your stance on things.
3. If they can't seem to understand that, fuck em (not literally). they're probably just bitching to make noise and cause problems.
4. If that doesn't work, revisit rule 3.

The only other things I'd recommend for solo-admin work is to not overwork yourself. It's a hobby at the end of the day, so stressing about stuff like its a job can cause burnout real quick. I'll usually allocated like- an hour of time to manage some site things so I can spend the rest of the day dicking around.

Hope that helps!
