currently reminiscing/missing a dark medieval fantasy rp i was on circa 2013-2015, esp site-wide events where staff would temporarily lock all the threads in the event forum in order to herd everyone to a time-sensitive singular thread where something Big™ happens/is revealed and we had to react to it. it was chaotic, but i loved it.

It depends on the vibe + character concept, because my face claim needs to fit that vibe/concept otherwise it'll bother me lol.

In the rl rpc, my character lineup is more varied than I am here in the animanga rpc. I'll fc anyone from models to actors; a noted trend of mine is that I will use a model for any character in their 20s, whereas for characters 30+ it's usually an actor (sometimes model... I feel like older models are often underused in the rlrpc.) A cheat code for HQ images is definitely instagram; following the right agencies, or actually, photographers goes far.

For animanga, idc about the sheer # of fanart a fc has and often do I fc a character that has like under ten "good" fanart LMAO. I like to challenge myself by NOT using a hoyoverse fc mostly because I don't like the stress of fighting to claim one of them/the popularity, and also, I hate the clothes... (YES I know following the right fanartist can change everything). I usually make female characters and my taste veers towards women who look mature but also "young" at the same time which is somehow a hard thing to balance if the claim has like 10 pieces to choose from.

Maybe one day I'll make more than one (1) character in this rpc again... take a page of what I do in rlrpc and vary the ages too.

THE VILLAIN DID NOTHING WRONG (OR “THE FALL OF LUCIFER”)

I do not want to ascend.
I have no wish to fly and see the world from above;
why would I look down on those I wish to belong with?
I have no interest in mountain peaks or towering spires.
To see what birds see is to see as a hunter, not a man.
To see as gods see is to transcend,
and this is not the spirit of equality, I rebel.

I have no wish for life
beyond what is naturally within my reach
—what's more, I want what is below me.

I do not wish to ascend. I wish to fall.
I wish to fall and fall completely,
after all of the years roaming between Heaven and Earth,
through the sky and beyond.

I wish to fall through the earth to land in Hell,
to bait you with an apple dangled in my hand
until you too descend.

I wish to fall the way that Rome fell:
halved by the cleaver of a Goth,
pouring all the love I ever carried
into the world on a scarlet tide.

I wish to fall like the House of Usher.

I wish to fall like a limbless bird from the world,
the remnant of Mercy.

I wish to fall so deeply that the Romantics ask me
why I'm not invited to the eternal banquet.
I tell them because I’m the villain,
but they say the villain did nothing wrong.

Next prompt: everything is on fire

Definitely not my last post, nor is it a singular line (one day I'll use this thread appropriately, but not this time.) Thinking abt the time I thought I could write a Suburban Americana Husband/Villain based on Bluebeard.

Stepping out of his car, Oscar stands, listless and cat-like, delight in his easy swagger. And dark, too, even in the waning daylight: the sun setting low, imbuing the now-collapsing horizon with warm colors such as the vermillions and the violets, making room for twilight’s encroachment. Washed with such colors, slanting prettily across his polished footwear: when he tip-taps across the driveway’s immaculately smooth asphalt, his heels catches the gloaming. It appears as though he’s on fire, he might be infernal.

Long languid fingers slide along the hood of his car, only to momentarily pause: outside his periphery, his neighbor is watering the manicured hedges that separates their respective properties.

He takes this chance to initiate conversation: it is normal, after all, and Oscar is exactly that to the naked eye—normal. Raising his chin a slight modicum, enough to mystify where his gaze settles upon: is it the sunset gutted and bleeding across the skies, or is it the fleeting vision of his wife before she sharply closes the curtains?

“Lovely sight, ain’t she?” He smiles. It is almost, but not quite, instinct now. “The golden hour never fails to deliver.”

He does not lie, and yet here he is in a perpetual state of doing so—wearing the skin of an obsequious, obedient husband in the American backdrop of southern humdrum.

how i view flakes (ghosts) is that they are people who simply choose to fill their time with other things, may it be other hobbies or possibly, responsibilities. no shade, i was a flake in the animanga rpc (my allegiance to the rlrpc) up until a few, short years ago.

the con to all this is the unintended reputation being a (serial) flake brings, the optics of which frames one unreliable and cuts the pool of rp partners/plots down rather short.

to mitigate this is not necessarily how fast/slow a site may be, because a successful site hosts writers of any pace/patience (and can accommodate for all, which isn't actually easy, but i've seen it done mostly on sites with accessible lore, such as well-known fandoms/IPs, i.e HP), but finding fellow individuals who don't mind the flakiness, makes space for them.
