all this press for house of dragon szn 2 reminds me that i'd love to see an AU ASOIAF verse site... either set in age of heroes or dance of dragons. i may be currently medieval fatigued, but i am never fatigued of GRRM's world

let's see...

  • convictions i.e a firmly held belief, opinion, purpose or values that encapsulates my character: this can range from political, religious opinions/beliefs to something more superficial or familial. some examples of this are: if my character is spiritual/faithful, they are going to perceive/interact with the world through those lens/beliefs and hold true; if my character's whole world is the love of someone else, they are going to move heaven and earth to make sure the world is safe for/accepts them.

  • challenges especially ones that are too grandiose if not truly impossible, which lends into ambition, even if i'm hesitant to call my characters as such; they are typically not ambitious, at least not overtly, but can be in a very surreptitious, slow-moving manner. examples of challenges could be something feudal and simple as like... conquering ur enemy's territory or stealing ur enemy's tithe. could even be the subversive version, like conquering ur enemy through idk the sheer, indomitable power of love LMFAO

    there's also the internal, like if my character's beliefs are being challenged, which lends to inner conflict, self-reflection, going on a spiritual journey, etc etc.

  • exposition as like steadily relaying background information like breadcrumbs that leads to the foundation of my character. doesn't have to be just my character, it could be information that leads to the foundation of a relationship with someone else (whether longstanding, or they met like... the other day), setting, event, or other element of my char's narrative.

    if my character is sheltered, then those who engage with them will learn that my char has never left their home, nor had any adventures outside of it, and may be a bit bigoted. if my character is religious, then those who engage with them will learn that my char firmly believes themself to be divinely protected by the universe, and should they die, it'll be the greatest sacrifice brought to the eternal banquet. :-*

not a recent post, because it's actually an unpublished excerpt from a WIP doc i have on gdocs where i write random addendum drabbles in the spur of the moment; been on my mind lately, even if i don't remember the context for it lol... might recycle it in the future when it's appropriate because it's a banger.

phim has already summed up my thoughts, but i'll answer the last question.

i view my characters as an actual person, because i consume more live action media than i do with cartoons these days; i also believe that rping in the rlrpc for about a decade has influenced that too.

omg NOT anons coming out of the woodwork kjhefjkrhg... I'm genuinely slayed!

One is advertisement for artists, whereas the other is advertisement for exploitative art theft companies. Until those companies get consent, give compensation to those whose data it uses, or remove the data of those who are unwilling to give theirs, it's still exploitation.

Lack of credit is a separate issue from funding companies that are actively siphoning their business.

Plagiarists will plagiarize. Thieves will steal. If AI art users want to use AI art that is fine. Just be unapologetic about it instead of obfuscating with false equivalencies.

I will say as an artist, I'd love for free advertisement PLS even if no one got my consent.

There's definitely been sites in the distant bygone past where I could manifest 1k total posts across the board, if I combine the post count from all my characters. But those site are either deleted or locked, I'll never fully remember. I was also a student with no life and had all the time.

The one I'm still fond of was rlrp supernatural site that I was on from 2018-2020. I still have login access to this one. 341 posts total on my main, but combine that with the total amount of posts across my five characters it comes up to be... 844. I definitely was hitting a stride on there for some reason. Very much into the mysteries of the site.

After that, I joined a rlrp urban fantasy site that I was on from 2020-2023. That one I don't have login access, but it was roughly 600-ish posts total across six characters. My main had 310 posts.

For some reason with animanga sites I've only been able to maintain one character, and it's been a hit or miss whether if I post a lot or not. I'm not sure why that is...
