over here throwing darts at a board, but would anyone be interested in a "swords and sorcery" mystery fantasy rp set in a city reminiscent of renaissance venice, the heart of a powerful thalassocracy, awash with romance, intrigue, duels, and cloak-and-dagger schemes? main inspiration points are the lies of locke lamorra, the three musketeers, romeo & juliet, medici: masters of florence, and a song of ice and fire (free cities edition)

thank you, i appreciate the offer!  i've been possessed by the rough draft of this setting's lore, so it looks like i'm locked in. i'll definitely reach out to see if you're still interested in helping staff after making my way down my checklist

Something that's really been tatering my tots recently is a relaxed pokemon rp set in an original region inspired by soviet satellite states that takes heavy aesthetic direction from disco elysium & revachol.

I'm thinking it'd definitely have stats and rpg-esque mechanics, but not really in a competitive way?? More of a 'its fun to see numbers go up' and 'this is how you can track ur progression over time'.

Elaborate worldbuilding exercise and an excuse to practice writing fairly regularly.

Yay or nay?

I've been working on an urban supernatural RP that can lean some amount into survival horror, based on how you build your character; for fight, flight or stealth.

  • It starts with an alternate Earth, in the year 2029. Strange things have started happening around the world, like Chicago disappearing off the map in a flash of light.
  • Then, on New Years, 2030, a mutagenic fog rolls in and covers everything the eye can see. Your home, a quaint little port city, is just barely saved by a mysterious fog-warding light that bursts to life over your heads.
  • Those who were affected by the "Gloom" but didn't lose their minds in the process are able to safely traverse it, so we get some missions and events there.
  • There'd be a progression system for getting new/improved mutations or mission-centric equipment, with some light d6 dice rolling used during events, but zero incentive for PvP.
  • No factions, everyone's on the same team and that team is surviving the world's apparent doom.
  • Although there is some dramatic tension/mystery from unaffected humans not being sure if they can trust their new-altered comrades to remain... human.

The part I've been worried about is that I wanted to try using licensable character designs from Booth.pm in place of traditional face claims. (I promise they have free options, I made a doc!)

Would anyone be interested in something like that?

The groundwork is mostly already done, if I'm being honest. I just haven't had many people to share it with.

Soulslike/dungeon crawler/fantasy party vibes with a 'stranger in a strange land' premise. There is a bigger world to serve whatever back story a character has, but that won't be relevant for the plot apart from maybe interpersonal conflicts. The characters all enter this strange land for whatever reason, some on their own, some in groups maybe. It is completely uncharted, and they effectively all start roughly around the same area, and all characters share a similar goal of venturing deeper. Everyone is an explorer.
Key points are:
Exploration, as there will only be a small section of areas available for rp, and I would toss some monsters or puzzles the writers' way. Whenever they write some progression or beat a big thing, they explore deeper and unlock some new areas with cool new things.
No canons, as every character will be roughly on the same playing field. Means no preexisting factions or groups. People will have to make parties themselves! Which is the most exciting part for me NGL.
The plot will be pretty flexible. There will be some big mystery to solve in this land, why it is so ancient and ruinous, and there will be answers and pointers on where to go that will be strewn throughout threads and characters. Whether writers pick up on those or go on to explore other stuff won't be up to me. The plan is to keep churning out prompts and see what people do with them.

There will be some magic and stuff, and of course people will find all sorts of gizmos and cool stuff along the way.

No idea if it would work. Want to leave as many gaps as possible for writers to fill in so there's not too much work and there's no burnout. No politics or factions also means less freedom with character creation. Everyone is an adventurer. Inspirations are Souls games, Hollow Knight, Dragon Quest, Shadow of the Colossus and even kinda One Piece.

Any thoughts or prayers much appreciated.

i've been reading the a song of ice & fire series in my attempts to branch out into different fiction genres, and i would love to write an insane amount of lore for a site in the same flavor of asoiaf. i don't want it in the same universe, but the grimdark fantasy with high political intrigue and insane amounts of lore is something i would love to do /cries

noxus league of legends. canons playable + special "ranking OC" roles to fill out the noxian government. focus explicitly on noxus because i really don't want a scattered RP where everyone just picks their favorite blorbo from league and then we're stuck going "well i'm in demacia and you're in ionia so how do we rp"

alternatively freljord league of legends. i'm debating.

probably just gonna make it a private RP campaign tho so.
