i'm literally nonbinary and my name is Lucian :/. Nonbinary does not mean "gender neutral", it's an umbrella term and some of us are also men/women/both lmao.

So I really want to try new systems and play new tabletop RPGs but I have a problem: doing them in person, live, as they're meant to be played, is exhausting for me. I don't want to run in more than one game a week because my brain will turn to goo.

So a while back I pitched a site called Ars Arcanum and I might have abandoned the idea of making it public. I am looking for one or two new partners to focus on stories in the world in my little private place. I would like our RP actions to be determined by us, but I like the idea of structured combat because it makes things a little exciting for me to have combat be gameified. As it's a private RP, we can do as we please with site systems and what-not, so if you don't want to play 5e, we can play something else. Heck, I wanna try a few new systems across various storylines.

The structure of these RPs would be less like "walk up to boss, kill them" by the by. I would prefer for IC actions to impact the direction of our stories. As such, we can ignore the site leveling system-- it was designed for a public site, and I don't really care anymore to keep it. I'm even down to include homebrew. The only request is that we write something story-driven, because I don't want to waffle around with half-formed ideas. I am down to include more ideas as we go.

Some storylines I want to play:
- The issue of a sleeping curse afflicting a mermaid kingdom
- Rival crime rings in a solarpunk island chain
- Revolution against an anti-magic dictator
- An undead hunter turned undead, dealing with the fallout from his family or hunting down the coven that afflicted him
- Drama over the heir to the crumbling empire
- And More. Honestly, I can come up with ideas.

Please be open to playing multiple characters. Also please be open to RP'ing with trans characters. I am also down to play romance, but I would prefer our stories not revolve around that alone.

as i've said about every interest check related to this, i'm largely only interested if canons are in play and if people want to play with those specific canons that I'm interested in. i will play with OCs, and might even put up connected want ads to fill roles with OCs, but I am not interested in a runeterra RP with a bunch of disconnected OCs, and I'm definitely not interested if it's OC-only or no one wants to play canons. If it's OC-only I'll just continue to wait for the MMO for RP.

I actually might be interested in this if the focus is team-based esports. I'd love to write some drama about former teammates, teammates that clash, and teammates who used to be on top-contending teams but are now on bottom-rung teams.

It could also be good to start the site with a bracket around the teams that establish that certain teams are Top Dogs and certain teams are Not because then people who wanna write winners/losers can slot into those. The status quo can change over the course of the site, but personally I like the idea of starting in an Underdog Team or a Top Team depending on what I feel like writing! The difference between writing a world champion being sold to an organization like Golden Guardians vs a rookie on a top team like Cloud9, in league terms!

Yasuo! Everyone's favorite windshitter! The objectively worse brother that somehow gets valued higher! Hot sucky! Yasuo is my horrible little garbage man and he's going to be the worst man to interact with, and I would absolutely die if someone apped the following on Guardian Weyr.

Yone - Let's go 0/10 together and write some Brother Drama. Yasuo's been making a clown of himself on Pern, and he's kind of in a bind. Yone having opinions? Might be fun. Also, Yone being the General Site Cryptid would be funny.

Taliyah - Daughter. Yasuo would love to see her again. He might try to be better for her. If anything, she can braid his hair and tell him to smile more.

Ahri - Full disclosure, I haven't finished Ruined King yet, so I don't have a TON of feelings yet. But this is a possible ship option, if the other player is interested. Otherwise, I'm down for them to be Platonic and just friends, as I uh. I ship Yasuo with Everyone. I think Ahri and Yasuo have a good friendship and it'd be fun to write them. Oh, right, Viego's also going to be a problem eventually, so I'm sure Yasuo and Ahri would love to team up for that again.

Riven - I won't lie, Riven/Yasuo is my favorite ship for both of these characters and always has been. But I really just want to write their parallels, and will settle for these two also being platonic. I really just. Need their interactions. Even if it's not romantic. Please. p l e a s e .

Here's my Yasuo plotter for anyone interested. He's kind of a mess, but that's part of the point. Turns out losing all your new hope and support system is not great for a mentality.

Perhaps Guardian Weyr would work? We're based in a fandom but you don't really need to know everything about the fandom because understandably, it is an isekai.

We have all your canons open, and I'd be down to find plots with them involving my current cast. Worst comes to worst, you can stop by the swamp and hang out with Raistlin. Our focus is more on the multifandom and isekai portions of the panfandom, so even if you don't have canonmates, we're more than willing to come up with plots and ideas. Our app is easy-- just write a plotter and tell me what your character is doing. We require two images: a 250x450 hover and a large square image that can be aesthetic.

ok so i'm really thinking on this now and:

- pokemon shifters/anthros/gijinka, the idea is that this is an alternate universe where pokemon and humans merged souls and now aren't different at all
- set in Roaring 20s Unova
- focus on entertainment industries, crime rings, cops, maybe prohibition, wealth inequality, etc. generally just Roaring 20s fun.
- site canons are Legendaries. each one is named, designed custom for the site (no FCs, they will have custom appearances), given a role to play, and can't be taken off the site unless a certain post count is made. probably just starting with the Unova legends: Genesect, Meloetta, Victini, the genies, the muskedeers, Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom.
- characters can either be mostly human or mostly pokemon with anthro qualities, to allow people who don't wanna design their own characters to easily use FCs.
- characters will have powers, likely limited by what moves their base pokemon can learn. possibly a system for learning TM/HM moves. We'll see.
- characters will have one species, but can have "hybrid traits" like those variations that trended for a while. shiny variations also unlimited.
- other than legends, no limits on pokemon species. I don't care if we end up with 3000 eevee gijinka.
- as for gender-limited pokemon, it's allowed but I will be monitoring for Weird Fetishistic Shit. like idc if your Gallade gijinka is a trans woman if you're not fuckin weird about it.

if anyone wants to really help me hammer out a system, let me know. I really want a site based around designing really cool characters but isn't an animal RP, if that makes sense.

so like it's important to note that you cannot control your feelings and you are not a bad person for having them

you CAN control your reactions to feelings, though, and how you react depends on how good of a person u are.

yeah, it does sting when i'm not the Right Fit for someone. i want to people please. i inherently want to make people like me. but you know what! i can't guilt someone for not wanting to join my site or hang out with me! i can't make it their problem! so i've learned to manage the hurt feelings, smooth them over a bit, maybe meditate on them, and give a proper and mature response to having hurt feelings over rejection.

one coping strategy i have found is remembering the people who do like me, who do appreciate me, and using their words to remind myself that even if one person doesn't want me around, i have those who love me and I don't need Everyone.

probably not doing it but:

Legends Zygarde.

Set after AZ builds the great weapon and the rebuilding of Kalos and Galar, the survivors of the great war, and the aftermath of *so much fucking death*. People who want to continue the war, blaming either side for the horrors that AZ inflicted. People who seek power. People who seek peace. All can be played in the equivalent of war-torn Medieval France. Galar and Paldea are allowed to be mentioned *as NPCs*.

Pokemon won't be limited to anything but reasonable Pokemon ownership. Pokemon were used as weapons and companions and livestock during the time of AZ, according to Kalos lore, but Pokeballs and Pokemon Centers don't exist, so Pokemon battling as a sport is not necessarily safe or regulated, and Pokemon training in the modern sense is not necessarily practical. Basically, your average character might have a Mudsdale that plows the fields, or a herd of Wooloo and some dog Pokemon to herd them, but they wouldn't have a bunch of trained, super strong Pokemon, and typically only the wealthy or power-hungry would own those.

Pokemon from Galar, Paldea, or Kalos are allowed if you can explain why your character has them and how they care for them (not Legendary or Paradox, obvsly, but everything else is fair game; also like, it's not super strict. a peasant would more likely have a bagon while a landed noble could have a salamence); Pokemon from Outside These Regions will be allowed as shop items, with possibly freebies for characters from Other Regions (with the reminder that pokeballs do not exist and neither does modern technology, so travel is limited; you might not be able to bring your Wailord from Hoenn). Not sure if I'll allow Isekai or Ancestor characters (perhaps one isekai or ancestor character free, with extras being unlocked thru posting), but they'd be limited to Paldea, Galar, and Kalos characters. Shop will be loose, mostly for buying "extra special features" and the only way to earn points is thru posting; specific kinds of posting will not be rewarded, so you can really just play it how you want.

Probably not going to do unique face claims ever again, as a warning. You're allowed to use face claims, but you're not allowed to say other members aren't allowed to use designs you don't own.
